1 share ~ 50 MH/s 15 shares ~ 700 MH/s [/quote] Thanks for your answer, but this leave me a little puzzled. 700MH/s are now obtained with a BTC3,6 videocard (say Radeon HD7970). Why pay 20+ bitcoins for them? I know, in the next future they're going to improve the computational power, but I suspect that 2,200MH/s obtained in September are more or less similar to our present 700s. I really don't know

Friedcat has said the plan is to have 200+Th/s online within a few months. At that point you are looking at 1 share ~ 500 Mh/s.
Difficulty will obviously be much higher then, but by investing in AM you will (hopefully) stay ahead of the curve. In a few months a Radeon HD7970 won't be worth trying to run, IMO, so your 3.6 BTC would need to have a total return on investment before the upcoming ASIC difficulty spike, which isn't likely IMO.
If AM succeeds then you'll get the dividends and their share price will hopefully remain where it is now or be higher. That is AM hopefully won't depreciate in value whereas the HD7970 will quickly to 0 (or whatever you can sell if for on ebay).

And I forgot to mention.. you'll also get some dividend benefit from AM selling blades and USB miners.

thanks for your answer. Still, if you today pay 22BTC or 30BTC or even 40BTC for 15 shares, when you can expect a breakeven? if you rely on http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/ it says that @700MH/s you make 3 cents per day at present conditions. We can assume they are fix despite the increasing complexity (thanks to AM network and conditions)... but this means you have to wait more than 30 months only to have back your money, it seems too much and maybe to risky for me. bye

I personally wouldn't pay 30+ BTC today for shares. 22 BTC? Maybe. Say you bought 100 shares today. A ballpark for the dividend for the year would be 30 to 50 BTC based on historical performance and the total hash % AM currently has. It may be much higher with the hardware sales dividends, but I would peg a low-end at 30 BTC. Putting a 100 share AM purchase at 147 BTC, that lowers your one year cost for the 100 shares to 117 BTC on the more conservative side and 99 BTC or less on the more optimistic side. A reasonable investment IMO, if you think AM will continue its success full execution.

The shares are worth what you paid for them, so you can sell them again to get your money back. If you mean, when to the dividends equal what I paid for the shares, it depends on the yield. The yield based on 69 days of trading on btct.co is 41% which if maintained would mean you receive dividends equal to your investment in about 2 years. The difference is you still have the shares which are probably still worth something, instead of some old hardware. Shares != Hardware
