British Columbia, Canada Wildfires - I just got Evacuated

I dont know how many people know what is going on in British Columbia, Canada. There are severe Wildfires that have been burning for 11 days, threatening thousands of people in the Cariboo regions.

I have just had the police at my door telling me I need to get out as the winds have shifted and my house is now in danger and in the path of a 13,000 hectare fire.
Hopefully it doesnt keep me away from the crypto world too long, atleast i'll have something else on my mind other than whats going to happen come Aug 1.
I'm crossing my fingers that I will have a house and computer to come home to once the fire burns out, and if there is anyone else from the Cariboo region in BC, I hope you are safe!

Yea I suppose I should wait to see if I go home to a burnt out house, but being off work for the last 12 days because of the fires, with no end in sight is a challenge in itself. Anyways, thanks for the well wishes.

That's what an emergency fund is for - every home owner should have one lest an unforeseen disaster stops your income.

I was just in Kelowna - all the smoke settles in the valley and I had to stay inside due to the air quality.  :/

The fires have continued to grow, I'm still under Evacuation order, its so crazy here, the roads are shut down everywhere, and there is police checkpoints not allowing anyone back to there houses.

There has been 41 houses lost so far, as far as I know mine hasnt been one of them.

What a way to ruin summer,  no one can tell us when we will be allowed to return to our lives.

Its now day 6 of being evacuated, words cant describe how much this sucks! You definately take your own bed/home for granted until your forced out of it. Ive been told that there will be atleast 5 more days before they start allowing people home.

They called the army in, have all the roads shut down with RCMP and now they have urban tanks blocking the roads.  It feels like martial law around these parts.
