They said 1-2 months 2 weeks ago. They were within a week of implementing LTC until it became obvious they needed to work on their trade engine and get it faster and more scalable.

I'm a software developer by trade and I know if they're doing a bunch of work on the trade engine they'll likely have to throw out a chunk of the LTC work they did and redo it to work with the new engine. So, once the new engine is deployed I'd say it'll be another 2-4 weeks after that until LTC is ready. That's just a wild guess though.

nmc is the best altcoin,

It has the same amount of total coins as bitcoin?
I think it's possibly the oldest? (bar bitcoin)
it does something useful...

the only real special altcoin that brought something new to the table .. can't think of a better word.. in 2nd place is litecoin imo

definitely needs to be on mtgox..

i own a small number of nmc lol

Namecoin is strange and that's why it hasn't been on my radar. It's like no one talks about it, even less than people talk about PPC.

I might be wrong but the initial intention for namecoin is to build a domain name system, so it's not strictly a commerce "coin" I see LTC,PPC as the top two altcoins, I expect both to be on gox eventually.

I hope Gox implements them with a good amount of information available, though. Gox gets a lot of traffic from newcomers and it would be detrimental for them to see LTC and PPC as "just more coins" without considering their technical differences.

My name was simply a play on "Blue Engineer" from Team Fortress. I am not affiliated with Microsoft or the Azure project.

Yep, LTC and NMC for sure. Haven't seen evidence for any other coins like PPC.

Bet you FTC makes its way onto there

it's almost anything you want it to be, including "a coin", and the domain names are just an example of it's power.. as well as being a "coin" it's also does something apart from waste electricity.

Right now? Never. They still have massive issues with only trading BTC, adding another coin while these problems remain unresolved would be a HUGE pr debacle.

I would love to see LTC on gox, I was excited to read the ann. gox made on implementing LTC, but, when will we get there.. who knows, I would safely say before the end of the year, but as another user said, they have to have a complete handle on their BTC trading beforehand.

It doesn't really use much electricity, since the same hashing that secures bitcoin also secured namecoin and the six other merged mined coins almost for free on the side thanks to merged mining, which the namecoin dev(s) originally implemented. So merged mining can also be seen as an innovation introduced by namecoin.

I also would like to know more on this topic.  Tired of random people making false statements about it all the time.  I'd like gox to give some usefull info for once about it.
