I have a rig based on Gigabyte Z170-Gamink K3 rev 1.1 (https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z170-Gaming-K3-rev-11#ov) and it works fine with 6 GPU (I am using nVidia 1060 by MSI). I use the bios version F22. I wanted to add 7th GPU, so I have connected the adapter from M.2 to PCI-e 4x with riser and plugged 7th card in. It won't start, meaning when I switch the PSU on it switches back off after ~1 sec. I probably should stated that I am using 2 PSUs (800 and 650 watts, one is powering 3 GPUs, the bigger one 4 GPUs and mobo). The situation is as follows:
1) If I connect any 6 GPUs (including the one in M.2 slot), they work fine. It does not matter whether the GPU vs PSU connection is 3+3 or 4+2 (meaning both PSUs are able to handle 4 GPUs).
2) If I connect the 7th GPU, the main PSU keeps restarting over and over. (the second PSU is permanently on, but when I start the machine, I switch them on/off with their hard buttons on the back)
3) I tried to shuffle the slots so that the big PCI-e slot were using GPUs with the main PSU etc.
4) Each card with its respective riser is powered from one PSU, no crossing there.
Does anyone know if the motherboard is able to handle 7 GPUs? Or has anyone similar experience? Thank you.

Are you sure? Is it your experience or did you just read somewhere? I did some research before and I found information confirming as well as "busting" that it works with 7 GPUs. If it really does not support 7 gpu, it's fine. I have other usage for the hardware I bought Smiley I just need to know it for sure.
