With the Announcement from Inno for the A5 Dashminer I may be interested in helping to coordinate a group buy here on the forum. I don't yet know if Inno will be interested, but I have helped organize a group buy here for the A4. So we have some history doing this.

So I am tossing this out to the community to see how much interest there woul be in a group buy. We are short on details at this time and Inno may not be price competitive with Bitmain. But I will be glad to pass along anything I can and see if a group buy is possible.

So post here, let us know how many units you might be interested buying and your location. We would likely need a trusted person in your part of the world to take delivery and forward miners unless you want to buy in a larger quantities. Then it may be possible to direct ship.

I am in the US so I can help facilitate US orders if the group buy turns out to be possible.

Historically, Innosillicon massively inflates their expected hashrate and delivers significantly less if you remember the A4 scenario, they initially promised a much higher hashrate than they eventually delivered.

However, if they really deliver 30GH @ 750w, I would be interested in 1.

I know this is just to guage interest but its safe to say if there were a group buy for these if its real you will be able to fill your order.  Without price/timing/developed specs its tough to say.  If inno is spitting these out in sep or october at a decent rate im down for 1 or 2 but will watch to see how this progresses.

For those who have been around a little while we are familiar with Inno and how these announcements work. Previously on the A4 we were really early in the miner development when they started taking orders and the were 6 months out from having anything to ship.  The initial miner specs were very impressive. Then they started revising them down, and down some more. Many people paid for miners that were supposed to hash at almost double the rate they actually hashed at. So please keep this in mind.  I wouldn't want anyone caught off guard as we have seen this before.

Since they are hinting at a Sept/October time frame that would lead me to think they are further along in the development this time and that the specs may be close to actual numbers. However never count chickens before they are hatched.

So Inno has disappointed in hardware specs in the past, but the hardware once updated with the latest firmware has been solid.

As this post is a feeler for who might be interested we really do need a lot more detail before we can get excited. I like to see we have a lot of initial interest. The larger the volume an order we can place the better our odds of Inno helping us with a group buy.

Thanks everyone for your support and interest. Hopefully we will get some info soon from Inno.

I have exchanged pm's  with op.

And will quote them:

I sent this to him:

I drafted this to put on your thread:

###############################

I would be willing to help with this.  I can hold funds escrow  whatever it takes.

At the moment  funds in my coinbase were frozen then released.

they were frozen in my blockchain.info then released

We all know that  the July 31- Aug 1  BTC restructure is happening.

I created  multiple core wallets  with multiple backups and have suspended escrow services for the time being.

Hashnest gave me this notice today.

Here is another interesting thing they will be doing.

https://www.hashnest.com/notifications/18?

All users on hashnest, please be advised below. To avoid risk of the possible bitcoin fork, hashnest decide to stop all the services for bitcoin wallet , hashrate market and PACMIC contracts payback during 2017/07/31 8:00-2017/08/03 8:00 beijing time.

I bring all this up  to encourage people to take the time to understand  how to handle their coins.

If I do escrow here for Longsnowsm  I am prepped and ready with   a fully backed up 0.14.2 core wallet.

I have worked with him before. Sucessfully

##############################################

Please let me know if it is okay to post it.

Best regards Phil

he replied :

Thanks Phil that would be great! Please go ahead and post it.

Of course all the exciting stuff happens when I am on vacation! Thankfully my phone half works here sometimes so I am trying to stay abreast of what is going on... Crazy times.

If everyone goes crazy and pulls out or freezes transactions in BTC this could get really ugly.

We will have to push Inno for a lot more detail on this group buy. They did over promise on the A4 and that miner did not measure up. It turned out to be very solid hardware after a firmware update but not hashing at the advertised rates. Also sounds like they may be pricing themselves out of the market from initial reports.

Thanks for offering to help with this. That will be a huge help having you on board for the escrow. Now if we can get Inno on board and the details work out having your help will greatly smooth out the process.  These group buys are a handful to manage.

we are in beginning stages at this moment.

After having coinbase freeze wallets on me for a few days and other weird happenings with other wallets and exchanges the last month  We will not be collecting any coins until August say 5 to even 9th.

Anyone that has played the preorder game knows caution is a must.  I go with the ½ a loaf method more than the all in move.

Longsnowsm will be back from vacation soon and post more info..  Just keep an eye on the thread.

I would also like to buy 1 (one) with same condifions and if I'll get the miner this year (2017) with an acceptable price.

I guess we need to compare what is already available on the market:
current best offer:
Bitmain 15GH/s ~3000 USD inc. power supply.

Additonal info that is mandatory for the import into the EU.
Does the miner  has the CE-Marking Huh Without it's prohibited to be imported and will be destroyed at the duty.
