I'd like to ask you all another newb question, with regards to quickly being able to do the math on bitcoin price. Specifically, when you're on the exchange and you're wanting to buy/sell. I'm used to everything being priced in U.S dollars, so I'm having something of a hard time figuring out exactly how much I'm buying. Since the exchanges only deal in the price of bitcoin, and won't tell you how much you're paying in USD.

When I go to buy something and I see a price like "0.00000380 BTC" I have a hard time figuring out how much USD I'll be spending to buy x amount of that coin. How do you deal with this? Especially with the constant flux of the price of bitcoin.

I found this site, but it won't show you tenths of a cent. It only goes down to $0.01. Is there another site out there which you can do quick conversions of bitcoins to dollars, even if the amount is less than 1 penny?

Maybe this website would be helpful, http://www.btcsatoshi.com

It is powered by CoinDesk. It will show you the value in Satoshi even down to hundredth of a cent, right now $0.0001 = 4 Satoshis

Couple of similar sites:

http://satoshitobitcoin.co/satoshi-to-usd/

Which exchange are you using? I'd be shocked if they didn't provide that conversion. Coinbase provides that conversion and does so easily and always using their website or mobile app.

Coindesk has fallen away from my use. Their mobile app is practically unusable and their pricing quotes and history takes forever to populate and calculate.

I use bittrex and poloniex.

How about a sell wall question next. Yeah I'm a pretty big newb lol

Where exactly can you see a "sell wall"? I'm assuming that for any given coin, you just look down in the bids or asks section, and take a look at all the open orders. Then you singe out the biggest sell order of all, and that would be the "sell wall". Is that right?

Also, can there be more than one?

If you are looking to buy something with BTC and want to figure it out, just figure the price based oin Bitpay current price or coinbase for the most part works to.

I just bring up a calculator on my phone.and would do the calculation real quick. .0000380 x 2,700 = 10.26 cents.

When I was looking at XRP earlier it was 18.32 cents or something like that.

Yea it's a good advice.
Let's not forget about tether pair, which is traded pretty much anywhere too. ( 1 tether = 1 USD).

I think the method given by iluvpie60 is enough and watch or monitor the price of altcoin or bitcoin here https://bitcoinwisdom.com/
Use it as your present or updated price and the the method above just use the times  to calculate it into usd.. This is the fastest way and follow the real price..
If you can go in the market you can see the updated price of coin..  you can also use the http://preev.com/ but there are only limited altcoin but you can relay to the result..

I have been of the opinion for a while now that we should start using satoshis as the main unit of payment. Currently, $1 US is equal to approximately 35,000 satoshis. Why not just use this instead of millibitcoins? I get confused when sites ask for payment in millibitcoins. It would be a lot simpler if they just said "send 500,000 satoshis".
