How long until $3000 or any other ATH whatsoever?

Price is recovering nicely now that it seems clear that segwit is going in and the hardforks are getting rejected. As long as we continue this path and nothing changes, the price should keep going higher with no stopping. How many years until we hit an ATH? Last time it was $2980 on Bitstamp, $2889.5 Bitfinex $3003 , it would be cool to get past $3000 on all of the exchanges this time.

I suppose this time, the price of BTC will reach around $2900 then reduce a bit for a small correction. I regret I didn't buy btc last week when it's just $2100. Now I will have to wait for it go back to lower price. If the price keep rising and rising, I suppose I will miss the BTC train again...

The dip was actually slightly lower than $1900 and most people didn't see this as an opportunity to lock onto some cheap bitcoins. Am hoping it doesnt drop this low again because it's delaying our MOON prices

Bitcoin has only gone up since it started. If you can hold and sell then that's your problem, I never sold and im up bigtime. I could have sold in the big crash to $400 in august last year but I held. You can't bitch and complain because volatility happens in small marketcaps. $40 billion is nothing, this should make you happy because the growth potential is huge. Until BTC is like 6 figures we'll never stop seeing volatility but that's ok as long as we keep making higher floors. It's all about setting higher floors, everything else is just noise.

Quite possible we could go and hit 3k this weekend or after. We are gonna go over it this time and possible like some topic here predicted and over 3500. My only concern on this is possible splitting chains. Hope that this wont be the case and that we can enjoy in so waited and anticipated rise.

well i am not bitching and complaining about volatility,
but i am afraid because of that many people will get angry and frustrasted (which is many friend was one of them and they gave up trading it or using it  . They used their saving in order to make money but when it goes down and many people fudding about it he sold his coin ) not everybody have a mindset like you or like other trader,for example problem when garvin said Bitcoin is done and right now splitting chain.
from my perspective Bitcoin is a potential project  ,really good because it can be used as a payment ultility and facilitate people to buy an items worldwide.

So Segwit is practically a safe bet.

Taking into account this, I expect the price to rise a bit further, but today probably it will not break the ATH's still. I expect a small correction because of "sell the news" tomorrow, and because it's theoretically possible that Segwit still doesn't get activated if more than 50% of the miners conspire against it. The 3000$ in my opinion will be broken once it is safe to say Segwit is locked in.

During the recent price rises it was usually going up by $300 a day at the most. Today it's up by over $500 which is a massive movement. If the upward pace stays the same it could just about hit $3000 today, and if it doesn't it will almost certainly do it tomorrow.

Hitting new ATH before aug 1st ? I doubt about the possibilities as there are people still looking to stay safer by leaving off their bitcoin holding hence they may start booking profits when they will be seeing prices above $2800 to $2900 which may drag down to $2300 levels before aug 1st too. Anything will be possible and I am talking by reading the market sentiment of investors and traders.

I think that will happen when segwit finally gets activated, that is going to be the milestone of the new era for bitcoin, bitcoin will go above 3000 and probably we will never see a lower price than that ever again, so I hope everyone stashed as much bitcoin as they could to take advantage of this opportunity.

I think that will happen when segwit finally gets activated, that is going to be the milestone of the new era for bitcoin, bitcoin will go above 3000 and probably we will never see a lower price than that ever again, so I hope everyone stashed as much bitcoin as they could to take advantage of this opportunity.

We still needed 183 blocks until rejecting non-SegWit blocks. I'm seeing BTC.Com and Bitcoin Russia not updating their software. Yes, it will be cool to see bitcoin price touch $3000 again and this will be a major milestones for us, new ATH. I'm thinking in around 2-5 days, we are going to reach that price. I think the miners who are still not using BIP91 software would have no other choice here. I hope when we touch $3000 though, at least sustained that price because last time we hit it, a lot of investors push the sell button instantly.

I see my prediction in this thread wasn't that bad The spike up to $2900 was simply too sharp and it was obvious that the high could not be held.

I think we will see now a consolidation on the reached level of $2600-2800 and then, once the numbers begin to come close to the 95% threshold for the BIP141 activation phase thanks to BIP91, the new attack to $3000. I think this time it will succeed, as it seems clear that the market is reacting mainly to fundamental signals and there remains some uncertainty if BIP91 was not falsely signalled (we can't prove that unless hacking the servers of all pools ).
