Hardfork issues hinder price increases, if there is no hardfork issue I'm sure bitcoin prices have reached $ 4000 or more, but I'm optimistic, bitcoin prices will reach $ 3000 after the 1st of August (a week later).

It looks like we are headed for a period of more stable price rises with a few problems on the horizon (2mb hard fork). I don't think these possible problems will deter the price however and I think $3000 and a new ATH will happen before the end of the month.

Yes, the new ATH is easily achievable (as you mentioned only 10% is pretty easy for Bitcoin), provided all the transition process goes smoothly. I don't see many reasons why it shouldn't at the moment, but until we get there you can't say that it is a sure thing. Highly probable yes, sure not.

Definitely I agree that ATH is achievable and it's been promising nowadays despite of the circumstances from the previous days of price quick drops. With a positive visions of ongoing price trends of bitcoins, I think that it will be possible to achieve those goals of $3000 mark as of this year and so on. If we reached that top we will expect a lots of dumps on the market and then eventually rise again after all; normal fluctuations will happen at normal scenarios.

I think that will happen when segwit finally gets activated, that is going to be the milestone of the new era for bitcoin, bitcoin will go above 3000 and probably we will never see a lower price than that ever again, so I hope everyone stashed as much bitcoin as they could to take advantage of this opportunity.

We still needed 183 blocks until rejecting non-SegWit blocks. I'm seeing BTC.Com and Bitcoin Russia not updating their software. Yes, it will be cool to see bitcoin price touch $3000 again and this will be a major milestones for us, new ATH. I'm thinking in around 2-5 days, we are going to reach that price. I think the miners who are still not using BIP91 software would have no other choice here. I hope when we touch $3000 though, at least sustained that price because last time we hit it, a lot of investors push the sell button instantly.

It is not really surprising even if 3000 is no different than 2999 or 3001 round numbers are a psychological barrier so when people saw that bitcoin touched that price they immediately sold  and that lowered the price, but now that we have touched that price the chances of staying above that price for a lot longer have increased.

Bitcoin is the only money strong enough to reach $ 3,000, all altcoin are not powerful enough to do that, even, ETH, which is considered to be the most powerful altcoin, is having a lot of trouble getting hacked. Bitcoin is the only currency strong enough and safe.

If there will be no chain split, which at this point no one here can say anything about, we'll be heading towards the $4000 level next month. If a chain split does turn out to happen, then we'll be experiencing some interesting weeks. I have no doubt that we'll dive below the $2000 level again in that scenario. It's depressing that we have to deal with certain figures that are only out to fill their own pockets, and to nurse their hunger for control. Yes, I am referring to Jihad Wu & Co. Agreed, right now everything is completely dependent upon the splitting on August 1, the likely possibility for a split is low yet none has assured that the splitting won't happen. All we can do is, just speculae about the happenings. Rest as stated by the above mate need to be prepared to face anything, because price drop as well as reaching Ath is possible.

True, bitcoin is close enough to touch that price and to stay above that price but we need to be careful recent news about some darknet markets being closed and the possibility of an exchange being closed too, have created doubts in some investors, don’t forget that bitcoin is always one news away from losing a lot of value.

I would add that the time to pass that mark is not yet now as even the price has not witnessed some level of stability to grow beyond that mark as even now, it has gone back to the $2400+ in which could be caused by several factors but hopefully when things settle the more, we get to pass that bench mark. Its possible in due time though.

Sure we will go over 3k but I dont think we will momentary cross after August 1st. Think that after some time this mean on month or two we will see crossing it, and for anyone this can be opportunity to buy. Reason is that it may end with first price drop and then with rise.

I think it is a given that we are going to break the 3000 mark the issue is predicting how high bitcoin will go that is the real problem, I do not have a clear answer for that but I will not be surprised if the price of bitcoin went up as far as 4000 before suffering a correction.
