Soloist of the American group Linkin Park Chester Bennington was found dead in his house near Los Angeles, reports the Associated Press. He was 41 years old.
According to the American media, Bennington committed suicide, but officially this has not been confirmed. The musician was married twice, he had six children.
Tabolid TMZ notes that Bennington had problems with alcohol and drugs for many years. In an interview, he stated that he was considering suicide because he was confirmed as a child by sexual violence.
The TMZ report also says that Bennington committed suicide on the birthday of his friend, Soundgarden's leader Chris Cornell, who died on May 18 in a Detroit hotel. Forensic experts confirmed that Cornell also committed suicide.
Chester Bennington was born in Phoenix in 1976. He began his musical career at the age of 17 in the band Gray Daze, in 1997 became a vocalist at Linkin Park.
With Linkin Park, Bennington recorded seven studio albums, many of which became platinum. The last one, One More Light, was released in May this year.
