I have only ever used nanopool, any real reason to rather mine on etherminer?

I use Ethermine because it has a higher pool hashrate. Theoretically you would want to mine part of every block, and you come close to achieving that by mining on a pool with a higher pool hashrate because they earn more blocks (despite the blocks being distributed across more people).

I don't like either one frankly.  They just seem to always underperform.

Currently Nanopool's calculator is saying I should be making $4.49 per day.  WhatToMine says I should be making $4.87 for the same hash rate.  This is pretty consistent from what I've seen.

I realize calculators aren't perfect but almost 10% difference is too much.  Other pools and coins are much closer usually.

Be careful with Nanopool.  They were decent until January 6th 2018 when that artificially doubled the difficulty of mining ethereum and siacoin.  Nanopool is getting greedy.
