I think the new coin such as SNT, DCT...  Wink is little good for investing but you maybe have to wait little long time to get double price   Grin

Hi guys,

Everything is in the title. I have 500$ I want to invest in cryptocurrencies. How should I diversify my portfolio an WHY ?

I don't want too risky investments. I'm looking for stable coins with good returns. Real projects with cutting-edge technology. No scam.

Thank you in advance
You can go to some Trading/ crypto related groups/ forums to start learning about Trading, you have a good amount of money to start with, you can earn good profits with that starting balance.

Remember OP that there's always risk in terms of investment. Even the amount you've got isn't that big just go with those coins that aren't that expensive but has the chance to pump. I suggest go with LSK, DOGE and SIAcoin. These are my new choices but if you want the usual coins go with ETH, it's still one of the good choice.

yes that is right in fact it is such a small amount to invest in bitcoin, to me i think it will be better to trade some good potential altcoin but which have cheep price, and if the price of such altcoin goes up you can make good profit from it.

I would suggest that you stick with Bitcoins and the major altcoins like Dash, Etherium, and Litecoin. Those will probably less risky choices.

You could diversify with 50% Bitcoins and 50% of one of those altcoins or a combination of the three. There are probably a few other altcoins that could be good as well.

I would also suggest that you wait for a drop in price so you can get the most for your money because right now the prices are pretty high.

Good point 50-50 is best possible solution for starters.
Maybe even 60-40 in favor of bitcoin, like he mentioned go for safe one maybe if you want to risk little go for some ICO then maybe go 40-40-20. Same amount of bitcoin and some alt and 20 will go for some ICO with this only you can possible lose is this 20 and you can gain 200 with this 20%. ICO can be very unpredictable.

I would put 50% in BTC, 30% in two or three good stable cryptos, 10% crypto fund and 10% in a cheap with potential but risky coin.

That said 50% BTC, 30% in a mix of XMR and LTC (20/10), 10% TAAS and 10% one or various of DGB, XBY, SC.

For me the best crypto at the moment is, Bancor, Aragon and IOTA this for a long term investment.

Maybe Ethereum too, although has already had considerable growth.

I'm not sure about Bancor and Aragon coins. But IOTA, Waves and NEM can be considered for a long term investment purpose. It always good to hold more stable or old good coins more compared to new coins more. Waves may be a good option now because prices came down a lot and also you will get some air drops on a regular basis.

As usual every type of investment involve a small degree of investment . But in this field you should see that you are investing your money for the coin and this is also a truth that every coin will get rise in the price in the future so more better to invest in this  project.
Here you want to invest 500$ , Your investment strategy should be such that no much impact fall at your principle amount .
You need to invest in multiple coins , because if you will invest in single coin then thier will always remain risk to loss all the money with the single coin but if your investment will be in multiple coin then risk to loss your money will be much less because overall the market of the cryptocurrency gain increase in investment ( mostly ) .

Invest your money to the altcoins. It is less risky there and you can have a good profit. But before you invest your money to the ICO make sure first that you have enough knowledge about their project. By having a knowledge you can find out if the project is real or scam.

Where can I buy BTC?  I've done my research before posting but every site I been to says USD purchases are suspended, e.g. Bitfinex.  I haven't tried CoinBase but I've read more recently they are not recommended.

I was thinking of doing this split personally:

$150 BTC
$125 XRP
$90 LTC
$75 SC
$25 DGB
$25 ARK
$10 HUSH

I currently have 1 Eth and 2000 SC that I have mined.  I'll probably switch to mining ETC soon with maybe 1/7 days mining HUSH.  I like SC a lot so it punches above its weight in my projected portfolio.

Yeah that is true. It is good way to earn more profit. Invest your money to the altcoins. Even though you have a small investment for sure you can double your money. I agree to you that knowledge is really important in the trading world.

If you have any time target to get back the profit from your investment, then analyse well about the altcoins market and invest into it. Leave of its own checking the growth of the particular coin. Sure you will be profited and if lucky the same profiting happens in a very short time period.

If you do not wish to take big risk then stick with the top 5 to 10 coins. Invest in them and forget about it. Come back to see them after 1 year and see how they are doing.

Sound's like the best thing on how to start investing is just waiting, look at the real time currency online and wait for the right time to buy those coins, that's the best way i can tell on how your'e going to spend your 500%, Why not try to invest on buying a mining rig and have all the coins in your pocket by just sitting. Try to search for the best and efficient equipment hardware for your rig.. that is also one of the best choice.

I am sure out 10 coins, at least 8 coins would get delisted from exchanges. In never accept any recommendations to go for investing with altcoins. They are highly in stable compared to bitcoin because fundamentally altcoins are not having any strong bases to sustain for long years. That is the reason utter jokes had become hit and many good concept based coins were gone away in months.

For $500 or even for lesser to that amount, bitcoins must be the right option to get into cryptos world of investments.

Yes their is a need to study the market before investing your money. So in the end you will not lose and regret later, invest atleast on the top coin which offer profit. Study the market first and the movement of the price before investing that will give profit either short term investment or long teem.

Until you invest in new ICOs, you might not have chance to lose completely. Like if you invest in Bitcoins and the price dropped, its just you will need more time to be in profit. So, With various cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin, you will be in profit anyhow, just hold it and give time.

Yes, if you do it for short term, then a thorough study is required.
