I don't have a ton of capital to invest, basically about $50 every 2 weeks. Sometimes more, sometimes less depending on what I have going on.
My "strategy" is to invest in smaller coins in active development and hold them for a year+. I typically go for projects looking to decentralize the internet - like shift, Vizio, and Atmos. I got lucky and bought 35 ANS when it was a little over a dollar because I thought it was funny. I haven't bought anything else "funny" since.
Do you guys have any suggestions on what I should change here?
in my opinion: NO.
because you are not investing, you are making a bet on each of these coins.
none of the altcoins have anything coming for them in the long term. you are confusing the very short period of time this year when they are got pumped with "long term potential" that doesn't exist for them.
for example take a look at one of your investments, SHIFT. this coins has nothing. it was worth 5000 satoshi 1 year ago same month and it has been falling for over 10 months and it went as low as 800 satoshi this means for more than a year your investment was taking a huge hit (-85% loss) and you were still holding onto it!!!
then as i said the pump of ALL altcoins started this year and SHIFT was no exception, in other words you got lucky.
in you wanted to invest you should have invested when it was 800 satoshi not a year ago. or better yet invested when the pump began in May.
i am using a year ago price to make a point about your 1 year+ investment.
the same thing will happen when you invest in these coins today. they will go down (definitely because they are in bubble) and continue it until they either die or a pump comes and they come back up a little.
