As per topic, i bet others are experiencing this.

Do  I need a mod's intervention?

"Total time logged in: 4 hours and 7 minutes."

"Newbie Restrictions:
You can only post in the Newbie and Local sub-forums till you have 5 posts and at least 4 hours on the forum. "

wow this just started working when i hit 7 posts and 4 hr 10 minutes.

so is there some kinda database update that takes 5-10 minutes or so? I realise this is the internet but i thought walking the bits around the server farm by sneakernet was faster than that. Smiley

so it's _5 hours_. well 4 hrs of clicking every 5 minutes, then 1 more hour of leisure time on or off forum :/

I believe it can take up to 10 minutes after you hit 4 hours of online time.  Too lazy to look up theymos' post about it, but it's something like that.

It's just like setting up my wallet for the first time. All excited to get knee deep in trading, then boom, mt. gox needs verification, dwolla takes forever to transfer funds, they don't show till 3 days later etc. etc. Three weeks later and I make a trade and the price bottoms out one me. Awesome.

Can someone explain one of the newbie restrictions?

"The other two restrictions are you need 1 post to be able to send a PM and 10 posts to put a link in your sig." from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177133.0

I don't understand what it means by "10 posts to put a link in your sig". I really appreciate your help!

Well, you need to make 10 posts before being able to put a link on your signature. I can't think on an easier way to explain that.

Oh so once you make 5 posts, I should be able to reply to any post (even the ones that are not in newbie section)? I read it as if I need to make 10 posts just to be able to reply to other posts. I feel silly now. Sorry, it was just the way it was written that got me. Thanks!
