Very cool, but do they know about EFF's decision?  They should probably ask counsel before agreeing, honestly.

Some of you may have seen this on KRADMINER.COM, Reddit or other social networks during our soft launch on Friday, however it's officially here: Bitcoins For Charity! BTC4C is a COMPLETELY non-profit website aimed at aggregating charitable organizations that officially accept donations via Bitcoin, and making it easy for users of BTC4C to donate or mine for a charity. So head on over to www.bitcoinsforcharity.org and check us out! If you like what we're doing, please spread the word!

BITCOINS FOR CHARITY NEED YOUR HELP!

As you can tell, we only have THREE charities listed on our website. That's because we only feature charities that accept BTC donations on their own behalf. We don't want to have to be facilitate exchanging funds, we built this website for one purpose: to make the world a better place. We don't accept donations on the behalf of any party, bottom line. But we've begun taking steps to inform charities about Bitcoin, and that first step is getting the word out. You can help us by sending this flyer evangelizing Bitcoin and its use. Feel free to Photoshop your TradeHill referral URL somewhere on the PDF, if you want.

You can also help out by following us at any of one/all of our social networks:
BTC4C is currently not accepting donations/tips, as I'm not at my office and don't want to generate a tip address on my personal wallet. Donate to a charity instead!

Very impressive idea, thanks for launching it.

Does who know? I do, if that's what you're asking.

In case anyone is interested, we sent letters today to:
* Adopt-A-Classroom
* Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
* Child's Play
* National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
* Susan G Komen For the Cure

http://norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=3454 ?

I am not really joking.   I think this might keep the Bitcoin user more in mind who is inclined to give up their coin based on something they may relate to.

What is "KRAD"?

What name would you give to the smallest unit of bitcoin (0.00000001)? sat. What name would you give to 100 sats? bit. 1 bit = 1 uBTC. 1,000,000 bits = 1 BTC. It's bits

Fantastic project! I've made a donation to recycles.org.

Also, you should put up copies of the letters you've sent out, make it public.

What is "KRAD"?

KRAD are the links to kradminer.com, a web based miner which shut down earlier this week. I am working to find a suitable way to have a web-based option for visitors of BTC4C who wish to mine in their browser for charitable organizations.

http://norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=3454 ?

Sweet, NORML accepts BTC donations!? I will be adding them, then, for sure. :]

Fantastic project! I've made a donation to recycles.org.

Also, you should put up copies of the letters you've sent out, make it public.

I posted a picture of one of the letters I sent out this week, I will start taking more pictures and maybe even add a section on the website for a gallery.

Great project!

Btw. "but only recently have exchange marketplaces exchange marketplaces" ?

Whoops, forgot to fix the thumbnail. I corrected the PDF earlier this week, though, so that's all good to send out! I'll upload a new thumbnail today.

We've been busy the past couple weeks, but I'll be sending out some more flyers today! Good news, we have reports of several users starting to send out their own flyers, in countries all over the world!

We've added two more charities to our list, the FreedomBox Foundation and Vaizard Institute, both great projects who haven't received much attention!

There is a statement on the picture that the bitcoins need to be traded for fiat.  This is not true.  They could buy something with those bitcoins.  For example they may be able to pay someone to do work on their website.

Nice work. Can you add us to your site?

Tor is a free software that helps people from totalitarian states with censored Internet to access the Internet anonymously and uncensored. It is estimated to have over 500,000 daily users. Tor needs people to share their bandwidth and run relays and so-called "exit nodes". Torservers.net will use the money donated to run high bandwidth Tor exit nodes.
