Definitely the fluctuating value of Bitcoin is what is making the prices of things on bidding pond so cheap. It's hard to buy something for 2BTC = $20 one day and watch it be $60 2 days later, however the more people use these services and start to trade in an economy that doesn't reside in one singular place, the quicker the currency will gain acceptance as something more than just an untraceable electronic forex/escrow service.
