Bitcoin appeared in wallet, awaiting confirmation, and the disappeared

A little while ago today I exchanged Steem for Bitcoin on Blocktrades. I saw the Bitcoin appear in my wallet. I left it to go through the confirmation process for a little while and when I checked the whole amount has disappeared from my Electrum wallet. I have done this quite a few times before, and I have never experienced anything like this before. Can anyone tell me what is going on. I am very worried, I need that money!

What address did you give? Can you go blockexplorer.com and see if its there?

Go to console and type ismine("1NK3hff3T4LzbF18wX7uVrX4kBwDRAaTKM"). If it returns true, then you are pretty much safe.

Btw, is the dot at the bottom right green or red?

That's honestly really weird, the history should show.

Can you click the green dot, unselect "Select servers automatically" and manually click on another server and restart your client.

I did that and clicked on a whole lot of the servers until one worked and the bitcoins appeared. (Big sigh of relief, now you are my hero!) A BIG thank you! Afterwards I re-checked the "select server automatically box" I hope that was right?

You don't have to click "Select server automatically" but if it works then its fine.

The issue was likely with the server not being synchronized completely, no issue with the security of the coins. Glad its solved!
