There should be any kind of effect on altcoin price after or before august 1. There might be a slight to massive increase on some altcoins because many might want to consider hedging on altcoins, particularly top coins who are not moving a lot or those with a lot of potential to grow more. There might also be a little decrease on some altcoins after that, because people might consider restocking bitcoin back again after the implementation of changes.

Can not be ascertained. Currently all movements are very unpredictable. Since the beginning of January 2017 BTC continues to increase, and altcoin always follow it. If BTC rises, Altcoin also rises and vice versa. Very much awaited how the game after segwit.

It indirectly affects Altcoins too. By having Bitcoin's price decrease, you also get a higher % of decrease in Altcoins due to the high correlation and low differsification they have.
Thus, when Bitcoin drops, most other coins drop too, but not in the same percentage as BTC does.

Theres no certain but I think somehow it has an effect on the altcoin price. With the movement of the price which increase and decrease so theres a fluctuatuon happen always. If bitcoin price increase altcoins price increase also.

Based on my understanding bitcoin price drops there should be a fall in altcoin also may be if bitcoin is not tradable for a week then there is no much transaction on altcoin so there is chances of falling altcoin price also.

Considering the scenario where bitcoin holders will convert to altcoins then it can cause altcoins to raise its value. Some altcoins might go down when BTC price will go down too since some are correlated to bitcoins.

So it is hard to say that segwit will not effect on altcoins. That is why bearish trend is ongoing for all altcoins.

I think for most big alts like ETH, XMR, ZCASH,.. the pricerate in BTC will go up again after august 1st.
People are trying to accumelate BTC right now to get as much BCC as possible if the split happens, so they are trying to move from alts to btc now, which is driving alt values down.

I`m thinking you`re right. When the value of BTC splits, the value of alts compared to BTC will increase.

This will more likely affect the price of bitcoin and provide a return to the previous levels. Altcoins are unlikely to have the same growth.

There would be some effect on altcoin price after august 1 because of segwit2x, particularly we will see another bloodbath or many altcoins dumping at once after the implementation of changes and I don't think that it will be a good idea to even hedge in altcoins by that time. There will be some unaffected coins by the upcoming fork but the question is what particular coin will it be? The best shot to figure it out is to avoid investing onto top 10 coins, they will probably follow the same track to where btc is heading after the said date.
