Then do China residents use proxy to access this website? It's weird to block a forum as this forum is not as famous as Facebook and other sites. Also, this site doesn't violate any laws that it should get banned in any country unless bitcoin is banned.

I am not actually aware that China is a country development an ICO, why not that bitcointalk is banned. At my country that bitcointalk is many known to and verry development.

Not surprising considering China banns words like democracy and oppression. Without net neutrality this is what our internet would look like also. Hell, why not ban the word bitcoin? Ya know, to protect the children.

But is this really true?  Somehow I doubt it.   And honestly it would cut down on spam, as would a bann of the Philippines and Vietnam.   No offense, but it seems like shitposters are heavily represented by those areas.

Edit:  I've been friends with both Filipinos and chinamen.  Still wouldn't want natives from those countries posting garbage here because they can't speak the language.

Don't generalize Filipinos. English is not our mother tongue but it's considered as our 2nd language. And how would you know they from these 2 countries? There are lot of countries that can't speak English well. That's why good mods here created sub categories for each country.

Edit: You said Philippines and Vietnam then you mentioned China. Just to give you little idea, Vietnamese are not Chinese, gather your thoughts my friend.

I think if china bans bitcointalk it will be a bit difficult because bitcointalk is on the Internet and everyone is able to access Internet
If bitcointalk is banned in China someone will just be able to access using VPS/VPN or Proxy, and I'm sure there are some members in bitcointalk  are from China.

North korea is known for being away from the modern world but I hope China will remove the ban. They will make a good effect on cryptomarket if they are also using  btctalk.

There is so much censorship appearing on the net at the moment. ISPs are starting to ban sites, and YouTube is demonetising some of its submitters. It's promoting the rise of sites like DTube, and a couple of social media networks are talking about launching satellites to bypass Governments and ISPs. I'm sure Bitcoin nodes would still work well over these satellite links.

I'm not surprised that bitcointalk can be banned in China. Many popular foreign websites banned there, even giants like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube. China want to control censore internet. And it also applies to bitcointalk.

You are completely wrong. Mostly civilised countries are doing same thing, only smaller scale. They are blocking illegal websites - torrents, porn an etc.
And I saw that Turkey ofter blocking social networks for short periods.
P.S. sometimes I see that tourists posting photos from China on Facebook. Does anyone know how they bypass blocking?

Well, that's china for you...always doing messed up things. Maybe they have their own forum for bitcoin or are scared that unnecessary information to spread because of this forum.

China is not an open market for everybody, they have a lot pride of making their own. Maybe they have their own forum circulating in their country made them ignore bitcointalk.org
