 Don't want to go into Technical Details of the maybe incoming Hard-Fork on August 1st,but like everyone suggested you should move your coins from web wallets until things are stable.Here's why you should freak-out especially if your coins are stored on blockchain.info.
They've locked  Message  feature on their facebook page (which was active earlier).Check the comments on their facebook posts of people asking them about the scene in case of a Hard Fork : https://www.facebook.com/blockchain/
Sadly,they haven't replied to any questions which shows they haven't really planned for the Fork and your coins aren't safe anymore.It's better to be safe than regret later.

Btw, you can export your private keys from Blockchain. So, if you still want to keep your coins there (not the best option IMO), you can get your BCC coins with another wallet and keep using them for the regular Bitcoin chain.

True, but if you want to handle it in a professional or at least reasonable way, Blockchain.info is not the choice.  During the period of high fees, they didn't bother to adjust their fee system until when the fees were coming down again.  They're just incompetent with any kind of upgrade or bug fixes.

In general, everyone in this section should be warned about the services which are unlikely to handle this properly.  Blockchain.info have not been clear about how they intend to handle this fork.

If you notice, some community managers often don't provide support (and sometimes reply to questions too)  on Facebook pages. They just update their page and nothing more. A few reasons are to avoid to turn the page to a support centre, or the manager can't deal with the request (personal infos needed, technical knowledge missing, etc...)
Otherwise, they can only reply "please contact the support" I have not visited their facebook page if they usually reply to people but not to the one asking a different question about the August 1, they yeah I admit it's quite unprofessional from them. But I think it's more a strategy choice that a simple  "I don't care"

Im a blockchain.info user and I have been waiting for them to release a statement on what they plan to do in case a hard fork happens on August. Their silence does mean that they will do nothing, so if you want to have your rightful share of BCC or some other post Segwit split coin, they are not the best wallet to store your coins.

I still have bitcoin in my blockchain.info wallet but it is in imported address there which I think can be considered safe because I have proper backup of my private key for that imported address.

But if you have any bitcoin in their HD wallet (default wallet) than yes you have to move coins to jaxx, electrum like wallets before 1st august or sooner.

Yes! we should prepare incoming Hard-Fork on Aug 1. I have already known this several news. I have read, choose those wallets which give you some theoretical way of exporting your private keys, otherwise use of any web wallets BTC is at risk. BTW! nice complement.

You can't avoid it then now can you?

If you backup the private key from your blockchain.info you can load it into a BCC wallet so it doesn't really matter if they support it or not.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with using blockchain.info apart from the risk of an exploit against them(i remember a few years ago there was a pretty major security bug, but thankfully a whitehat came through and refunded everyone), and maybe not having support for bitcoin cash.

But these are not really a worry because you hold your own private keys. You can always export them to a wallet that does support bitcoin cash, and you'll be able to claim the coins from there...

Though it is probably wise to get it into a desktop wallet. It might be a hassle, but that hassle should be worth it especially if storing larger amounts of coin.

This is not true, blockchain.info doesn't share private key of your wallet addresses but you can get private key of imported addresses. So no it is not safe to store bitcoin in their HD wallet, either use jaxx or electrum wallet or import paper wallet address in blockchain.info wallet to access BCC using that same private key in different wallet that will support BCC after split.

They will I guess but like you said they're the biggest online wallet providers and it's their responsibility to make their customers aware of their contingency plans .

BC.I does not control their customers' private keys. Nor do they have any control over what their customers do with their money.

Thanks for the heads up hope we can take their word for it to safe guard our funds, and from their blog they seem to have some conditions on how they will handle each chain should that happen they will only support Bitcoin cash should it prove to have a strong market and develop an actual chain otherwise after first Aug longest chain will be the main currency
