GJP,

The "logos" in this thread are absolutely atrocious. I'm not saying this to make fun of you, put you down or make you feel bad, but rather on the off chance that you didn't realize this yourself (meaning you have no sense and people should stay away from anything where you're in a position of control).

If you're seriously interested in making a *logo*, then you need to do research, draw up samples, and K.I.S.S.

In case you think I'm somehow picking on your selectively, see this other thread as an example of my disdain for poor artwork. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=46252.0

1) What does GJP stand for?
2) What service does GJP actually provide?
3) Is there any kind of history or special skill/talent related to GJP?
4) Is GJP a humble start-up, a legally registered business with years of profits to boast, a dude in his garage who is just "doing something"?
5) Is there already a website that the color scheme of should play into the logo itself?

(These questions all help to design a logo)

agreed.

#6 is most visually pleasing, imo.  Though I'd use a different color scheme to avoid looking too much like Skype.
fwiw - Ars Technica & The Verge have pretty nice logos/color schemes.

I don't think you should do one that is straight from the font of a movie like Star Wars or Harry Potter.

They all look like rip-offs of other brand logos.

Answers:
1) GJP is the Initials of the Owner ( Not Me, i am just a Tech ) ( funding Capital ) Of the Soon to be built Mining Farm
2) Unsure what we are actually gonna be doing, ( at this current time )
3) None at this Time
4) The owner Does have Legal Registerd Businesses That have Been Running ( Since early to mid 90's )
5) No website at this time ( might be a Future Bounty for that )

I prefer logos that have graphics, so all of them in the first post would be out for me. If I had to choose one, though, I would go with the second one (looks like a Harry Potter font?).

i agree with you. star wars is best BUT when looking at a logo for a company it needs to be UNIQUE and eye catching - if its a blatent 'steal/copy' froma nother company - what impression does this give prospective clients/customers.

The KISS aproach works best, try just using GJP - or a unique icon - imagine an app on your PC/Phone - what would the logo be?

Look into free fonts, there are thousands online, take your time and get it right from the start. If you just use a famous font (google, skype, star wars, etc.) you will regret it in the long term. I like the Skype font, but it is already associated with Skype. Choose something that is not already associated with a famous brand. Smiley
