While we would love to have colleges and universities accepting our coin, we believe that if enough students start using it and using the app, it will still be a very successful project.  Colleges and universities are just a bonus that makes spending the CampusCoin much easier.  Also if enough students are using transacting with CampusCoin, the colleges will have no choice but at least consider using it as well as it will be quite beneficial to them for multiple reasons.

Giving the coin away is a good way to gain user adoption.  Have you thought of doing an airdrop like CLAM coin?  Would be an interesting way to distribute.

Can anybody steer me in the right direction? I'm looking for a CampusCoin blockchain explorer where I can enter a public key and get a balance, or a transaction number and get a blockhash. The " block explorer" on the CMPCO website doesn't appear to allow inputting data, not much "exploring" goin on, more of a ticker of recent transactions and the current block number, which is useful but not the tool I'm looking for.

This is coming very soon.  We're also coming out with a near future roadmap that has things not included on the full roadmap.  This will include a better block explorer, linux wallet, white paper, meet the team page, block reward/max supply alteration, and Cryptopia listing.
