It's happening here too. Something stopped working after the N retarget.

Does anyone have a working miner or is this affecting everyone?

Somebody must have a working miner, since transactions get confirmed and getinfo says new blocks are found.

Pools are going to need to know what N is, so they can calculate and verify shares. AFAIK, there's no method of exposing this from the client.
So, each time N changes, pools are going to have to shut down, re-write their verification code, and start back up again.
Basically: You're stuck with solo mining.

Well that's certainly something I would have liked to have known yesterday.

This p2pool seems to be reporting shares fine, no idea whether payouts are working yet. Maybe throw some power at it for a while so we can find out? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=204890.0

For anyone who cares, at the current block of 540605, it's 5. It changed from 4 at 524423

Good thing that the difficulty doesn't drop off a cliff during the N++ event. I like this soft retarget.

P2Pool payout is working fine. You realise you are mining on an experimental fork of p2pool though, which yesterday got shut down because payouts weren't working properly, right? (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=202920.0) Hopefully we get paid from the block we just found. (EDIT: just got payment for the block, sweet!)I'm really waiting for the code so I can run my own p2pool server but hopefully this will do for now.

yac.coinmine.pl is fixed and is working (accepting shares and just found a block) - just need more workers
yac.dontmine.me is not accepting shares and not finding blocks

Someone is probably making a killing with amazon blade servers right now because blocks are being found quickly
