Pools are going to need to know what N is, so they can calculate and verify shares. AFAIK, there's no method of exposing this from the client.

So, each time N changes, pools are going to have to shut down, re-write their verification code, and start back up again.

Basically: You're stuck with solo mining.

You realise you are mining on an experimental fork of p2pool though, which yesterday got shut down because payouts weren't working properly, right? (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=202920.0)

Hopefully we get paid from the block we just found. (EDIT: just got payment for the block, sweet!)

I'm really waiting for the code so I can run my own p2pool server but hopefully this will do for now.
