I think the news is long and over. You may not read the news. Crime can be done with any tool including Bitcoin.

Yes I'm pretty sure he is talking about Randsomware because uneducated people think that Bitcoin is to blame.

This is another possibility. The amount of scams online is crazy. Remember the BTC doubler madness ? I wonder how many guillable people lost Bitcoins with that.  Then there is the Ponzi.

No, this is a global issue - ransomware is not country specific... I have noticed that the mainstream media in my country (UK) although they mention bitcoin as the payment method they have not pushed an anti-bitcoin agenda, surprisingly! I find it important to always point out to anyone who mentions bitcoin as the currency of criminals, that cash is still knig for them...

Regardless of whether bitcoin is to blame it still effects its image. The fact that Bitcoin is used in crime is a bad thing for the world, but actually a good thing for the price. In the future bitcoin will hopefully used more for good rather than evil.

Where are you residing? I don't think that people will ever consider bitcoin as being bad, once you hear about it, you will be interested in learning more about it. In my opinion, I think it will gain more recognition in your country.

On mu country there is no clear imagination about bitcoinyet, bu mu opinion. Im from Serbia and I think our government is still watching on other countries experience in that point before to make it's own move. Meanwhile ordinary people make bitcoin on different ways, here 3500$ is a really big money and those who got involved into this years ago and kept must be rich now  Cheesy

Yes everyone picture Bitcoin with crime as there is so much theft, etc. which is sad.

I think soon people will get better at security and there will not be so much theft.

Right now it is like the "Wild, Wild West" you can just go into a bank with a gun and take all of the money.

Well he's from Indonesia, tho I don't know how hard Indonesia was hit by that wannacry virus and if that's the case I can see how people, who have never heard of bitcoin, tie bitcoin to that ransomware.

Need some spare btc for a new PC that can at least run Adobe Dreamweaver.

Discussion about the fight of bitcoin against government seems to be endless. Already comes the time to create a sub-part of forum about it to accumulate the general information and collect different rumors etc. Smiley
