This is an old case but in my neighborhood I do not see a bad response to bitcoin, because most people here do not know about bitcoin so most of them do not care about the case.

many scams going on Bitcoin, web Scam, ico Scam and other deceptive investment. Many people get stuck in it so they lose their money.

The good news about Bitcoin has spread and I sure Bitcoin will always increase.

You have to ask yourself this question, "Is the technology to be blamed or the people doing these crimes?" The technology is getting the bad reputation for people who are using it for these crimes.

If someone hack a notebook and use the built-in webcam to take nude pictures of a women and then transfer those images over the internet to his own computer and then ask a ransom from that women not to publish those pictures online, would you blame the notebook manufacturer or the internet that was used to transfer the images or the person doing this?

Do not blame the technology for the people doing the crimes. < What did they use before Bitcoin? Answer : Cash or PayPal or credit cards >

Government is just finding some lee way on their lapses of preventing crime and they saw Bitcoin is one perfect excuse.  But honestly? Did this government researched about the blockchain transparency?  When it comes to fraud and money laundering I am sure they are barking at the wrong tree if they think Bitcoin encourage these.

It does really start on ones intention no matter how we positively use on bitcoin but still there are people who do always see the possibility of using bitcoin on negative way and they dont really care on affecting its reputation as long they can able to execute their evil plans. This is why government doesnt really like bitcoin because it can really boost up crime if its citizens would see its negative side.

If you join to the deep web, everybody is selling stuff for bitcoins, or just selling credit cards, hacked paypal accounts, and everything. Bitcoin is used for money laundering, that is why nobody can buy bitcoins with credit cards without Identity identification.

bitcoin can not do anything, bitcoin character is dependent on people who use it, suppose most people use bitcoin to transact in black market of course bitcoin name will be bad, but misalka most people use bitcoin for legal transaction of course bitcoin name will be good. What's a logical defense to this? Has your country banned the US Dollar? If not, I'd ignore anyone in your country saying "bitcoin is the currency of thieves". Because before Bitcoin it was the US Dollar that was the global currency of criminals. And if your country didn't ban the US Dollar than they really don't care about the criminals using a specific currency, they're just trying to find another reason to be against Bitcoin.

I think the bit about not being able to buy with credit cards isn't because of money laundering but because it would make it a lot easier to commit fraud.

crime, organized crime at least, usually has profit motive attached (ignore terrorism for the sake of this argument). bitcoin is money, not quite anonymous, but anonymous enough at this point. the government basically doesnt like illicit earnings because it does not get to tax said earnings. whats one f the easiest ways to avoid taxation at the moment, with a significant amount of value?

People also used fiat currency for their criminal activities. So why now blame it on Bitcoin because is modern currency?
