I'm trying to send bitcoins to a person that has the default bitcoin-qt client installed.

He has provided 2 addresses. When I attempt to send to these addresses using my bitcoin-qt client the address field turns red. When looking at the addresses on blockchain.info I get the "Firstbits not found" message.

Here are the addresses:

12BDSoRxAoKd214UcWE9Mu1Eg9E
16mgN7SEmyhgsHeqXTp9NWXQYmf

This is probably something obvious but thus far I have not found the answer.

Thank you!

both are invalid.

>bitcoind validateaddress 12BDSoRxAoKd214UcWE9Mu1Eg9E
{
    "isvalid" : false
}

>bitcoind validateaddress 16mgN7SEmyhgsHeqXTp9NWXQYmf

}

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
