Should I sell my bitcoins before Aug 1st? or buy more ?

I'm just wondering what will happen in terms of price for Bitcoin. Should I invest now in bitcoin? Are investors going to get extra alt-coins similar to Ethereum Classic if they buy before Aug 1st (e.g. Bitcoin cash)? People seem to buy Bitcoin as Bitcoin prices rise 8% today while most of the other coins are declining, but I'm just not sure. What do you think guys? Is this a good time to buy or sell bitcoins for the short-term investment?

You have 2 scenarios

1- You hold BTC, on an exchange that supports BCC, and you will end up with BTC + BCC
The question is if this new pair has more value than the BTC alone today.
Based on your feelings, you can decide to hodl or sell BTC or BCC or both

2- You don't have BTC: You will be able to buy BTC or BCC (on an exchange supporting BCC) after the fork
BCC will simply be another altcoin, with it's risks/rewards outcomes
BTC may be cheaper than today... or not.



As usual, there is no "Black or White" scenario about holding or spending. You can play "in between".
ie: If you have 10BTC, maybe you should hold 50% and get the rest in Fiat or Alts. Or maybe you should do a 30% BTC, 30% alts, 30% fiat

We don't know what decision is building on different investors mind so basically we can't tell you the right thing to do between if you will buy or if you will sell. Saying buy or sell coins today may lead to opposite result.

What do you want, be brave enough to risk some money or will exit to take profits. It's your decision.

you can do what you wish...
if you want to make a profit then you have to keep your Bitcoin for more days. if you sell at the lower rate then definitely you will make a loss regarding this issue. so wait until a couple of weeks and see what will happen in the near future.

Not long ago I had time to read a thread that says that on August 1 there will be no bitcoin split. Instead he says that there is someone who has made a coin called BCC. I do not know if this news is true or not. But my advice, save the existing bitcoin at this time. And after the 1st of August, you can buy it back as your long-term investment

Noo, I think it is better that you hold your btc and for a couple of years sell yours btc of course for the biggers price. That is my thinking.

Selling your coins, you will miss the opportunity to get BitcoinCash (BCC). Not sure how the market value of BCC is going to be though. We can see price drop on bitcoin, but might even out if you sell your BCC. Or you can just sell your coins and stay on the safe side. Buy back when you think will be the right time.

So if i were you if have bitcoin ill convert it to USD first and wait for the result of august 1 because i think this is the safest way to ensure your assets. meanwhile if you have the guts to hold it through it all you can just hold it maybe btc's price will go up or down, nobody knows thats why imo converting to usd is the safest way

People are buying even more bitcoin for two reasons, many expect the price of bitcoin to go up and so they are accumulating bitcoin for that and the second reason is that many speculators and traders are preparing to get bitcoin cash, you will get as much bitcoin cash as you have bitcoins, so speculators are going to try to get as much BCC as possible to try to profit from it before the coin disappears.

This is the mail I received from xapo earlier today. I received almost same mails from some other services, this is good answer on question is it good to sell or buy bitcoins. I think most of the people are gathering bitcoins in order to get more bitcoin cash coins or how to call that other chain. Everyone wish to be prepared for hard fork, I plan to wait to see what will happen, I wouldn't like to see split but if it happens it will be good to get some free coins.

yes that is right that it is your own decision either you want to hold or sell. but my option will be to hold and not to sell at all. in fact there is a little panic because of the 1st August even, but when this will over then  i am sure that the the price of bitcoin will start increasing therefore i think we should  try to hold bitcoin not to sell it in panic like condition.

I just bought altcoins with all of my bitcoins. it is a very tough decision as I have to maintain the balance as constant as I can but I am afraid of being lowered Bitcoin price that then I was thinking if I make some constant profits, then it will pay for the profit. you can also choose to invest your coins in exchange like yobit.net as there you can make some really good interest without getting scam and as you can with draw your money whenever you want.

Yes sure can do that the current bitcoin price seems to be high so then it is w good time to sell but also you might also consider some scenario's that might happen, after the implementation of segwit2x or segwit the price may skyrocket to new all time highs and reach the $5000 price but then again lets also not forget that there is a little chance that it might dip but it is highly unlikely to dip after august 1 considering how strong bitcoin is and the support that it has from the community, merchants, local and online businesses and some countries already adopted. The point is you might get more bitcoin if you hold them.

To answer your question I think not because I think during the hard fork bitcoin price will decreased and that was the right time to buy some bitcoins because I am pretty sure that bitcoin price will increase again in a week or two but for me this was the good time to ensure the safety of your bitcoins , since August 01 was nearly to happen It was best if you will store your bitcoins to a wallet that you own the private key , just avoid any bitcoin transaction for now.
