interesting , im not sure either to embrace this or turn and run like hell from it?
without an email you would not have been able to register and activate on this forum.
as many see in crypto currencies freedom, we think email must be under user sole control. this can only be achieved if we decentralize email and move it in the user's pocket.
and email is the most important online presence: almost everything goes thru there.
email is about the worst and insecure service that most people use... and the only way to secure it is to host your own email server and service on your own computer /hardware/server... but because this is impractical for many they resort to allowing other people/companies/businesses handle their email needs
the only real freedom is self hosting everything.... but still we are all dependent on ISPs.
so allowing a second party to manage emails is also allowing them to read each and every one of them! that is not secure!
now the issue actually sits here... while using a DHCP most and i do mean most ISP "internet service providers" block several of the outbound and inbound ports with their specific requirements and most of those ports are directly related to some type of mail function.
so unless you change the actual protocol of ever single ISP "WORLD WIDE" and allow for the single user of service DHCP to have unrestricted access to ever single port required for email functions i doubt that this would realize!
i understand that you would be using some type of loose web script to use a email function but those still require authorization and authentication from the serving host... turning this into a single point of insecure failure because the authority of the host still allows access for the simple function of MX Transfer
