Got an answer to my e-mail. They said the transaction from yesterday will go through but no more will from now on. They did say no other customers were affected which sounds like campbx would still work. Seriously, why can't CampBX deal with a little bump in traffic... It has to be the slowest, most inefficient web site I use... Both Virtex and Liberty have been zipping along 100% up time today. |

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

I emailed Gox support and they offered to cancel my transfer and refund the cash into my account.
I guess I have to do a wire transfer now, but at least I didn't lose any money.

Does this freeze apply to US Bank -> Dwolla -> MtGox transfers only? Or MtGox -> Dwolla -> US Bank transfers too? I ask because the wording in the email from Dwolla seems to indicate only the first: "real-time Dwolla-to-Dwolla payment to Mutum Sigillum LLC..". I initiated a MtGox -> Dwolla transfer yesterday having not heard about all of this, but I have not gotten an email from Dwolla, however nor have the funds appeared in my Dwolla account.

Dwolla said to contact Gox. Some folks here have reported getting Gox to reverse the transfer and getting the funds back in Gox at least.

If they are going to exchange US currency with people in the US (i.e. doing business within the US) then they do. Even if they are headquarted in Japan, by exchanging currency with the CI in maryland, they have also done business in maryland (and everywhere else in the USA by availing themselves there). |

While technically true, ultimately, MtGox is trading USG-controlled USD. USG is going to regulate USD gateways (and they are well within their rights to do so). Anybody gatewaying USD will ultimately be bound by US laws. |

While technically true, ultimately, MtGox is trading USG-controlled USD. USG is going to regulate USD gateways (and they are well within their rights to do so). Anybody gatewaying USD will ultimately be bound by US laws. Within US borders, yes. You don't think the chinese government, which owns a ton of USD gateways, is just going to be dictated terms, right? |

Same here. I can't get my meagre holdings out of mt.gox and they want my dox. I'm guessing I should write my bitcoins off. Anyone have any more information about this? |
