DHS are a bunch of fuckturd Nazis. Any idea how much they stole?
I'm going to say this in public for the simple reason that I'm kind of afraid to: Yes. Fuckturd Nazis. I'm old enough to remember the Reagan years, and I've seen many random acts of fascism, but this is the only time I've ever been stone cold robbed by the federal government. What does that mean? I don't think we're marching toward total dictatorship any faster than we have been since the 18th century. But I do think that this DHS thing is a really really bad idea. Too much power. Too vague a mandate. It's very name sets of alarm bells, and it's actions set off more.

It's only been two years of pointing out that US bitcoin exchanges clearly fall within the bounds of the laws FinCEN is associated with. The whole world knew dealing with US citizens required some sort of money transmitter licensing -- that was the entire point of the CoinLab/MtGox deal ("MtGox wants 100% out of US and Canada"). The USG is gonna regulate the USD, and it's within their rights to do so. If you dislike this... don't use USD.

I stand by my description of the DHS as a bunch of fuckturd Nazis, and not just for the reason mentioned.

I don't get any message about Dwolla being frozen, but for the past week, when I've attempt to transfer from Mt. Gox to Dwolla, the transaction will go through, I'll receive an email from Mt. Gox with a transaction ID #, but about 10 min. later I seed the funds I was trying to transfer appear again in my Mt. Gox account. It looks like it's still frozen by the DHS…

You need to use international bank transfer now to get funds from Gox to the US. It's about $20 per transfer. I've just withdrawn all my funds (BTC and USD) from Gox ,after the Liberty Reserve charges filed today it can't be much longer before the Gox domain is seized as well (at least their .com address).

Camp BX seems much better, and it supports Dwolla, too. (I'm sure DHS will eventually seize Camp BX's Dwolla account, too, though…)
