Hello I wanted to get a decent survey of everyones top alt-coin they feel is most superior and created this google poll. Its anonymous although to keep from cheating or duplicate responses, requires Google account sign-in. Made with Google forms NOTE: Please only think of coins *intended to be* used primarily as a currency or exchange of value, not coins/tokens used to run a service or access a network Besides Bitcoin / Ethereum, what alt-coin do you feel is the most superior "other" cryptocurrency? POLL - https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1A4yidli-v4dGwsbY5BEUaNhIHhY6QmXYknvmhYLbw7k/ (Results are displayed immediately after answering the poll) After 100+ responses and every 100 after I will put together a nice fancy looking chart and share to all those interested --------------------------- EDIT 1: Some have chosen tokens that are not primarily intended to be used as a currency, so I removed them from this results chart. I planned to do another pool where I ask all coins/tokens but this one I was mainly curious about currency that could compete with Bitcoin in the years ahead EDIT 2: Here is an easier chart to read the results thus far after 100+ responses https://i.imgur.com/0H4yFSZ.jpgEDIT 3: We are approaching 200 responses! I will make another (better) chart to share when we reach 250+ (I'm somewhat new to posting in the forum and not sure how to get the IMAGE to show inside the post. I used the IMG tag?)

Digibyte, decred and monero are very good coins. I have these three one in my portfolio and I don't think to sell them in this year. Especially digibyte is one of my bests.

monero is anonymous, decred has built-in governance; what is special about digibyte? i am reading about it right now, but so far i don't see why i would buy it. i am looking for a reason tho, please sell me.

the problem with asking a question like this is that people will vote for the coin they have invested in and want it to get pumped so they can dump it as fast as possible and take the bitcoin out which they want to hold and believe in.
you can start asking each person who votes why and you'll see if they are honest they say "because it is a good investment"

If you ask about altcoin's superiority it means it relates to quality. Altcoin is very much quality, you can find it the biggest current exchange like bittrex and poloniex. Or you can see the rated coinmarketcap, but I'm telling you that iOta also has qualified coin features.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion alright so my gut feeling on which alternate cryptocurrency would be most superior probably next to bitcoin as of now would be Ethereum.

Zcash, monero, i don't like ETH, i don't like any coin with infinite cap and no mining, i think also zen is a very goodcoin, there are a bunch of other good coin laying around that are still small like nexus, and might become big int he future, don't just look at the top 10

Primary used as a currency? Not even bitcoin can claim that. If that's your criteria, then doge would be one. Lot of people do use it as money. Monero, too. That one is used in some gaming things. The vast majority of coins are nothing more than speculative digital assets, and a thread like this is just going to encourage people to tell you what their favorite coin is, regardless of actual quality.

I would still stick with Litecoin. LTC has been around for a while and a lot of people are using it. Other newer alts such as Ethereum and Ripple don't have any technological advantage over Litecoin.

What you meant by technological advantage? Are you trying to refer to segwit. Well in that case ltc is first and as for now only coin to activate segwit (btc going to join segwit club soon). This activation helped it rising from $5-6 to $50 this year. But ahead now, I don't think ltc has matching potential to new player in market like waves and stratis. I suggest people to jump over these coins and earn 10-20 times of your investment instead of making 50-60% from ltc in next one year.

This is true but we are all holding multiple tokens. I am holding around 7 tokens and if you ask me my favorites I will mention 3. The way that this will work is that if we all are mentioning the same thing then crowd sentiment is worthwhile. So what I hold which I believe has the best potential: Ethereum Dash Waves

Your right, I edited it to included "intended to be used primarily" We reached 100+ responses sooner than I thought, I'm working on a better chart that should also be easier to read than the Google summary page

I believe XTRABYTES will dominate in the coming years for a few simple technical reasons.
No POS, No POW, uses a unique way to sign blocks that solves 51% attack so it is essentially the most secure chain in existence. Its infinitely scalable, and can run on zero fees.
It is one of only a handlful of actual platforms that allow building of modules but unlike ETH almost any programming language can be used. Even modules can be built upon other modules!
Core code will be released in about a month.

People are responding to the poll and choosing tokens - I had was mainly trying to gauge the wider crypto community's feeling in what the future holds for potential coin that could someday compete with Bitcoin down the road. If Bitcoin continues to have drama, chain splits, etc there could be opportunity for other coins to compete on a much larger scale than what we see today (ie Litecoin).
It is very unlikely that a token used for network or service like IOTA, NEO, SC would be one of those that competes for currency use which is why I wanted to limit it to just coins that are INTENDED to be used as a currency or store of value.
I do plan to do another poll that asks what you feel is the "superior" other crypto that IS a token used for network or service usage. To me this is a different question than the poll I'm asking currently
