The problem
The incentives between content creators, their viewers and advertisers are inherently misaligned. Viewers are bombarded with irrelevant ads. Creators sacrifice quality of content for quantity of views. Advertisers lose due to inefficiencies in reach and rampant ad-fraud.


The solution
A decentralized video platform for creators, by creators. Creators build their tribe of dedicated fans, and receive Patreon like support trough frictionless micropayments and subscriptions. Creators can also sign sponsorship deals that are in-line with their fanbase best interests—with the on-chain escrow and no middleman.

We're building Viewly because we believe everyone should have the opportunity to share their creative work, discover their fans and get paid, without corporate middleman, pesky ads or personal privacy invasion.

Viewly operates as a decentralized organization with no middlemen. The revenue and cost savings from this setup are passed back to creators and fans.

Fans can directly pay creators to fund their content either as a subscription or a one-off tip. Creators can make Kickstarter type packages to fund premium content.


Rewards for upvotes
Money is given to creators based on participating fans’ upvotes. Fans can set up a weekly budget to give to creators which will be allocated based on their upvotes.


Content licensing
If you opt-in, we’ll help people find your work and get you paid when your work is used in commerical projects.


Sponsored endorsements
People and businesses can commission content from specific creators /w escrow.



Antifragile by design
Viewly's decentralized network becomes faster, and more capable with every peer-to-peer node that joins. Long term video storage is incentivized by the on-chain hosting marketplace. The network is antrifragile by design—the bigger it gets, the better it runs.

I guess there some coin with this concept that was already launched here and the PUREVIDZ is one of them, a once expensive and profitable coin but did not mention it's positon, we really needed this kind of coin but a good marketing plan and a very good promotional team is needed to maintain the coin and make it stays.

How it works
Videos are being distributed to our small cluster (just 2 nodes in Europe at the moment). We are using IPFS to sync the underlying files between the nodes, and the Steem blockchain for immutable storage of root hashes and video metadata.

What is missing?
For the system to be able to scale, there are two critical components that need to be implemented:

1.) An efficient, server-less mechanism for video encoding.
2.) Fair and cost effective incentive system for node providers to store and stream content.

We are currently preparing proposals for addressing both challenges.
