Technology in itself is an application of science. Technology as knowledge is an application of science to further knowledge and to understand nature (ie formulas). Artifacts as technology is your common application of science to have a machine (ie cell phones, gadgets,).  Technology as process (basically is self explanatory) like hygienic process in surgery. Technology as volition, i can't explain this...
