Creating a Bitcoin client that fully implements the network protocol is extremely difficult. Bitcoin Core and some of its derivatives are the only known safe implementations of full nodes. Some other projects attempt to compete, but it is not recommended to use such software for anything serious. (Lightweight clients like Electrum and MultiBit are OK.)

Those MLM crypto scams are not a coin. They are a fraud. There are already many laws for Ponzi schemes and fraud. Those people will be very sad soon when the law comes knocking. Google one coin and Gladia coin.  Law enforcement is already aware these schemes are going around.

I think this is just one of the methods of promotion. What's so bad? If you like it - join, if you don't like - don't join the network. It's easy.

Now not so much MLM coins. From famous I know only Bitconnect. And it has dirty reputation
