Miners usually don't accept to confirm a transaction without reward. You better make  a good fee to avoid freezing your transaction.

Miners usually don't accept to confirm a transaction without reward. You better make  a good fee to avoid freezing your transaction.

Just wanted to point out:

"Historically it was not required to include a fee for every transaction. A large portion of miners would mine transactions with no fee given that they had enough "priority". Today, low priority is mostly used as an indicator for spam transactions and almost all miners expect every transaction to include a fee. Today miners choose which transactions to mine only based on fee-rate.

Transaction priority was calculated as a value-weighted sum of input age, divided by transaction size in bytes:

priority = sum(input_value_in_base_units * input_age)/size_in_bytes
Transactions needed to have a priority above 57,600,000 to avoid the enforced limit (as of client version 0.3.21). This threshold was written in the code as COIN * 144 / 250, suggesting that the threshold represents a one day old, 1 btc coin (144 is the expected number of blocks per day) and a transaction size of 250 bytes.

So, for example, a transaction that has 2 inputs, one of 5 btc with 10 confirmations, and one of 2 btc with 3 confirmations, and has a size of 500bytes, will have a priority of

(500000000 * 10 + 200000000 * 3) / 500 = 11,200,000
Historic rules for free transactions
A transaction was safe to send without fees if these conditions were met:

It is smaller than 1,000 bytes.
All outputs are 0.01 BTC or larger.
Its priority is large enough (see above)"

Unfortunately this is probably not possible. The only way to send Bitcoins is with the work of miners. They use their resources such as computer hardware and electricity to do the mining and therefore they get paid for that effort. There's no way to avoid that with Bitcoin as far as I know.

However, there is an alternative. I'm not trying to promote another coin on this topic, but to fully answer your question, IOTA doesn't charge fees for sending coins. It's built into their architecture that as you send coins, you mine for 2 other transactions so everyone shares in the mining equally. The point is that if you don't want to pay a fee, you may want to consider sending IOTA rather than Bitcoin.

what i know is, you can't send bitcoin without fee, its probably because if you want to send transaction you need miner for that, and miner need money for that job to make sure that your transaction is finish.

Easy question, use OpenDime or paper wallet, as there is no other way.

A lot of mis-information floating around here. Of course you can transact bitcoin without paying a fee, you just need to conduct that transaction without intervention from a miner. The way to do that is to make the transaction off the blockchain!

OpenDime is perfect for these transactions. It's a device the size of a USB drive that you load with Bitcoin and then physically hand over to someone as payment for whatever reason payment is needed. The Bitcoin can be redeemed once and then the device is thrown away.

Here's a review of OpenDime from BTC Sessions, great information here.

Anyone here used OpenDime yet?

Enjoy!

the lower the fee the more of a chance that your transaction may never get confirmed

Not true, sir. The only reason you're paying a fee is to pay the miner to confirm your transaction on the blockchain. If you transact off the blockchain there is no confirmation needed and therefore no fee assessed.

Please don't spread mis-information. Thanks.

You can only lower your fee depending on the wallet you use. The best wallets have dynamic fees which allow you to adjust the fee size you'd like to pay.

Now fees are usually small so don't worry about it because will not see the fee if you forget how small it is.

If you use coinbase then you can send bitcoin free via email ( if receiver also use coinbase). But you can not send bitcoin without fees. Because without fee miner will not accept your transaction. If miner don't accept, your transaction will be pending few days. After that your transaction will be reject. So,you can't send bitcoin without fees.

On certain platforms you can choose to withdraw you money to any physical address. So you can just enter the address where you want to send the money to withdraw for free (well 9 cents).

yeah it's one of many path the miners earn bitcoins. but bitcoin transactions fee should be faster and cheaper a little more

Not sure if you have seen my post, but I have explained how to send BTC in the Blockchain without fee!!!

The OP use-case is:
He has to make lots of micro-transactions to lots of people.
If he uses wallet that allows you to set multi recipients then he can pass all of them at once with just one fee.
If he wants that fee to be cleared, he needs to use pretty old BTC and low in hops. (as far as I understand it you need to use first generated coins, that have been generated years ago in order to fit the requirement for hi priority).

Here are the 3 rules that need to be matched so you will get in block with NO FEE at all! (we do not talk about exchange fees and other sites fees, we talk about blockchain fees):

1. It is smaller than 1,000 bytes.
2. All outputs are 0.01 BTC or larger.
3. Its priority is large enough *

1. The size of the transaction depends on the amount of historical data it needs to follow to genesis (freshly created coin).
2. The outputs need to be at least 0.01 BTC (this probably will not be meth, so the fee will be needed)
3. The priority is counted as: priority = sum(input_value_in_base_units * input_age)/size_in_bytes

So if we have transaction that has 2 inputs, one of 12.5 btc with 2016 confirmations (two weeks old mined block), and one of 2 btc with 10 confirmations, and has a size of 500bytes, will have a priority of

(1250000000 * 2016 + 200000000 * 10) / 500 = 5,044,000,000 => this is ok

* - Transactions needed to have a priority above 57,600,000 to avoid the enforced limit (as of client version 0.3.21)
