Improvement in performance, in these applications, usually means better signal-to-noise ratio. A clearer signal so to speak. This is actually good news and the reason so many persons enjoy Neurofeedback.

We are envisioning a lightweight adaptable headset. The design will be 3D printable and it would be easily assembled with off-the-shelf components. Neural oscillations have very specific characteristics indeed. But we don't just stay there. We select the signal that is pertinent to a specific visual or acoustic reaction we want to receive and is meaningful to the person in question. We have written a blog post that explains the stimulus-reaction challenge in a nutshell.

There is no "electric stimulation" from the device. These are simple stimuli, acoustic or visual. Essentially what you can hear over a pair of headphones or see on your own computer screen. There is no zapping or jerking with electric current.
