Not a single hardfork block has been mined, and if r/btc is anything to go by, there's a total clusterfuck going on with the client software: Bitcoin ABC nodes are banning each other or outright crashing, and Classic Cash nodes are apparently following the Core chain (!). No news yet on BU Cash node failures, but no doubt they'll find some original way to self-destruct.

Means it does not accept the new blocks from other Bitcoin Core nodes. Bitcoin Cash doesn't have the same blockchain anymore and will make it's own new block eventually that will be rejected by Bitcoin Core and some other nodes. They are already on a new network, the new network just hasn't processed any new blocks yet, that is all.

So what's happening, has the fork been released? How do you get BCC? How much is it worth right now? Will it overtake it? WHAT'S GOING ON?
Right now, theymos announced that the activation of BIP148 is done without split or other issues, does that mean the devs won the debate? Also, the BCH (not BCC BCash as theymos said) is still not in split so I guess you will be waiting. Some said BCH is at $400, I am not sure though. Overtaking what? Bitcoin? That is impossible as me getting rich with woth my life right now. For now just read the announcements being posted here.

Also he said that transacting bitcoin now is safe. So much for the panic I've been reading in this forum for a month now. Now that the August panic is done, debate in November is the next Topic.

IF I sell all my BTC now, will I have BCC when/if they start getting mined? Split happened, so they're there, just not transferring, right?

if the nodes are crashing, epic fail there. but bch needs blocks larger than 1mb to start their chain, right? there aren't enough transactions to fill their block since a large number of transactions this day and the next few hours have been halted. if theymos says the coast is clear and we can now resume btc transactions, perhaps that's when we'll really see some action?

You might know that there is a debate about the solution of bitcoin's problems about transactions and stuffs so that us the reason of these whole panic. The BIP148 is activated which is the SegWit, there are also an altcoin that is forked but still it is not ready. There is a crash that happened a week ago but it just pump back again to it's normal price after some time.

People are saying there's a DDoS attack happening on BCC with loads of bad acting nodes being generated. Is this just an excuse or are there something being done to stun their progress? The war between BTC vs BCC might actually only started now. I thought the dirty tactics stopped with the spamming of BTC, but I guess that was just the first shots that were fired to start the "War of Crypto"

Well, what can I do to stop such things thus will be waiting for the result in the next weeks or so since there will be another debate this November. Will BCH walk out triumphantly ot BTC being upgraded successfully, the results, SOON.

Well, the closest answer who are they is their closest enemy which we all know of, but I think you have a point. Now the time to pick out own sides, but I know BTC will be having a ship loaded of their supporters.

Well they did have a huge amount of new nodes being created in just few hours. There is 3098 of Bitcoin Cash nodes now compared to 13212 total of which 3500 are Bitcoin Core v0.14.2 according to https://bitnodes.21.co/nodes/It very well might be that they are under DOS attack, but it could be that those nodes went up for other reasons, like people turning their clients on to witness the split or something. Or maybe someone trying to make it seem like they have a huge support.

Definitely not worth buying the popcorn for, heh. I had a pretty strong feeling that it wouldn't exactly be fireworks, but I thought there might be something happening. So much hype and drama for so little action. Oh well, onto the next big drama, I guess. Nothing has happened yet, apart from BIP148 having locked in.
Either you've got your BIP numbers mixed up or you've been listening to the wrong people. BIP91 has been locked in, BIP141 is currently on course to lock in, but isn't there just yet. We have to wait for the 1208 blocks currently remaining in this signalling period to complete the lock in for SegWit. Once that happens, BIP148 will become completely redundant and won't be required. Some might argue that it has already served its purpose in forcing an ultimatum to begin with, though. For those who have been reading the announcements, it should be noted that the first post is based on circumstances that changed not too long after. Initially, there was a chance that BIP148 could result in a split, but this was mostly negated by BIP91. Today was going to be boring from the offset until BitcoinCash reared it's ugly head, but as it turned out, that's pretty boring too, heh. //EDIT: "The Bitcoin network has forked as of block 478559". BitcoinCash splutters into life... just.
