Yes, repaying the loan on time brings a good reputation for our profile but I think reputation loan is not a good idea to build a reputation. I have taken the loans from the senior as well as from the junior members of this forum but it was the time when I needed the money, not the reputation. The best way to build the reputation to trade with maximum transparency and being flexible with the communication timing. Sticking to the ethics and unwritten code of conduct is the best way I know to build a strong reputation.

Hello everyone.
I was just wondering, if is it a good idea to give away small amount of loans to trusted forum members to get some reputation?
Absolutely NOT
I mean, what if i open a service which would allow senior or trusted forum members to take loans from me (around 0.02btc each, considering my current budget) if they need. Will that make a good impression on people for me or not? Will i get some trust or reputation by doing this?
Your thoughts? or, suggestions?
No and no. Trust ratings should not be considered valid unless the trade involves the risk undertaken by the trust giver. You are allowed to lend coins this way but you should not be asking them to leave trust ratings nor expect any from them.

Trust is gained through trades overtime, you can't force it or use methods to specifically gain trust ratings.

1. You simply can't build a reputation on this forum by giving out loans, go through the lending section and you will see that. Maybe a couple of some old lenders have got some ratings, but still not solely because of lending.

2. You can build a reputation by offering some services to the community or by contributing in making this forum a better place.

3. You can build a reputation by indulging in trades (not loans) with other forum members.

4. You necessarily do not need a green trust account to have reputation. Just don't indulge in scammy activities and have fair trades to build up reputation.

Just to add value to your account through the trust don't get into the bitcoin loans. These were highly risk involved, because based on the collateral submitted the loans were issued. Here people try to scam the lender and escape submitting fake or valueless collateral. Reputation can be earned through some other ways rather than risking through loans.

You have read the comments of people and I have the same idea as them. Though it is possible to  increase your reputation by giving out loans but it is not the best idea. If you give away loans you may end up being a victim of scammers who will walk away with your btc leaving your reputation untouched. The best way I guess is to make good friends in the site and help newbies who are in trouble and if you have helped them you can just ask them to give you a good rating. But in the end it is your choice if you give away loans to people just make sure to choose people who have a high positive ratings so you can avoid scammers online.

Absolutely NO,
If you do this that mean you're abusing Trust system and more likely a truster member will not give you a 'Trust Feedback' but instead giving you a 'Negative Trust' with just this statement alone you can get a 'Negative Trust' from them.
and other than that what is your purpose for getting a 'Trust Feedback' ??

Most of them will think that you want to abuse your trust to do something shit, like scam and running a ponzi scheme.
so,if you want to get a 'Trust Feedback' do not ask them for this, just do a transaction and let it go.
If they give it to you that mean you are a trusted member, but even if you did a transaction with him but he did not give you a 'Trust Feedback' do not ask them to give it to you, just let it be.
Because become a 'Trusted Member' that mean you are a trustworthy people, and to gain a 'Trust' is not an easy task.

Going out through that means will mean trying to influence your trust system which is more like buying and at the same time frown at over here and aside that, land your account in red by the forum 'police officers'. If you give a loan because of trust, then I doubt if those Senior Member will want to do that considering that accounts are bought freely so you might lose your money and at the same time lose the trust you are looking for. Why not open your service, do your thing right and one trust worthy member can do that for you willingly.

Don't be stupid. You're basically just trying to cheaply buy feedback by lending to people who you know are both trusted and will leave you feedback. This is the exact opposite of being trustworthy or reputable as you're doing it for the sole reason to gain positive feedback and appear like you have some trades behind you when in fact they're utterly meaningless.

Thank you all guys for sharing your thoughts, and i really respect your opinions, but i guess most of you guys have misunderstood my concept of saying "Trust" or "Reputation". By getting trust or reputation i did not mean positive feedback or trust rating, but i simply was asking if will that earn me some respect (in OP i used reputation for this) from the trusted or good members of this forum or not. I ofcourse know it is stupidity to do something like this for getting a positive feedback from a member or to get some trust ratings for your account, and i would never do something like that. I just want to be trusted, i don't really need any positive feedbacks for my profile nor i will ask someone for that which would be begging for it.
I thought, for example, if i give a loan to someone who is a good, old, regular member of this forum when he is in need, then atleast he would have that in mind that i gave him a loan once when he spots me somewhere in the forum, and i just want to have that, but not any "Positive feedback" or "Trust rating".
I hope you guys understand what i'm trying to say.

The only thing that will earn you either repect or positive trust is abandoning this account and starting over fresh with a new one--provided you change your ways.  But my guess is that you own multiple accounts already, since you were caught dealing in them last year.

Just asking this question is usually enough to earn you some red.  You should lock the topic and take a morality shower.

Don't they literally mean the same thing? When you're giving someone a positive feedback, they are trusting you. Don't have to try to hide it, really.

I thought, for example, if i give a loan to someone who is a good, old, regular member of this forum when he is in need, then atleast he would have that in mind that i gave him a loan once when he spots me somewhere in the forum, and i just want to have that, but not any "Positive feedback" or "Trust rating".

Honestly, there are plenty of people who lend coins to purely earn profits/help out a fellow member in need and not doing so for a favour.

You cannot be trusted without you being proven to be reliable and trustable enough to hold funds AND proven to be a good contributor to the community here. Period. I can name you loads that I consider to be trustable but have never thought of (at least from how I can tell) this or having any hidden agenda.

Not to be harsh on you but most of them do have significant contributions to the community here in the first place. If you are thinking of being recognised here, contribute actively and constuctively to the discussion. It won't get you trusted by everyone but its better than nothing.

Leasing could be profitable but very risky. I suggest that you lend based on trust only to borrowers that you have experience with and that you know from past loans given with collateral that they are honest and will pay back. I have such lender that lends mi bitcoins without collateral but we have history of good cooperation.
You have to prepared on loses too.

Why should i abandon my account and start with a new one? I haven't done any crime. Ofcourse i had other accounts before because i wasn't aware that there are people in the forum who doesn't like that because according to the rules it is really not prohibited to have more than one account. And when i came to know that having multiple accounts is not liked by some people, i stopped using them. My account is all clean except for that one mistake which i have done in past which is not really a that big thing i guess.

Just asking this question is usually enough to earn you some red.  You should lock the topic and take a morality shower.

I don't think someone would flag me red just because i have asked a question. The forum is all about getting knowledge from each other and that is what i have tried to do. I didn't start any service like that, nor i will do after hearing all this from the community, but i just wanted to know if what people think about this, which to a far extent i have known already.

I have updated the OP, making the topic to be just a formal discussion but not a personal or hidden agenda. Referring myself in OP has made my question totally non-understandable to many people, so i have just made it a question without referring anyone doing anything like that.

Are Bitcoin loans a good way to earn some reputation in the community?

Obviously yes if you properly repay your lender amount as stated you can get the reputation accordingly with member you deal with the loan or lending services. Please encourage everyone in your posts and do this then it will help you get it.

Why does it matter whether you're getting feedback or just their respect? Your goal still seems to be the same and that is to become trusted or vouched which still seems to me like you're trying to buy it regardless of feedback (and I'm sure if you did actually make these loans you would have wanted/expected or asked for feedback to be left). If you want trust or respect then just earn it naturally over time like anyone else does but seeking it out just because is the wrong way to go about and makes you look the opposite of trustworthy to me.

I did not do it, nor i will. Yeah, at first when this thought came in my mind i thought maybe it wont be harmful for me but seems it would have been if i was to do something like that even if my purpose wasn't what you or many others are mentioning. I have already changed OP to get myself out of this as referring myself was actually the biggest mistake i have done. I should have asked the question generally without mentioning myself in the OP.
