Hello,

I am watching this forum for a few weeks now and I think I am ready to buy my first coins for €3000,-.

- Waves 50%
- Stratis 30%
- Antshares 20%

I want to buy these for the long term (>3 years).

How do you guys think of this combination. And... is today a good day to start?

Thanks

hey!!

almost eveybody recommend to buy top 10 on a first step. personally i wouldn't say you to change your mind-) it doesn't matter when to buy if it's a long term investment. however it'd be better to wait a week like vinny lingham said a while ago.

Hey,

What motivates me to buy an investment, wouldn't necessarily inform your decision. You did indicate that you are adopting a buy and hold strategy, thus have you looked into the teams behind these coins, do you see them gaining popularity, do they have their own economic value (backed by some asset etc). The best investors develop rules for why they are buying or selling an asset. That is my advice to you.

Those are all good investments bit why did you pick them ? They good coins if you read the Ann and look at the market. For 3 years i know waves is great. Plus you can lease waves for profit so it's reacuring interest over a long period of time because you lease the waves to node operators. Stratis is good and is a possibility coin. If you look at how it's been doing it going very well. Good luck to you.

Be careful with the alts. Do you research and don't take your eye off the ticker in case shit happens that takes you from a place of progress to obscurity.

Most alts are shit, seriously. They're cons (essentially) that will only benefit the creators and a handful of early owners. Most are pump and dump worthy only...that's it.

3 years sounds like a waste of your capital with all three of these. BUT, you may have more research on them all than I do...do your research and trust your heart.

Antshares had a big pump on the previous month while waves and stratis are becoming stagnant. They are all good coins but I think you really need to have a big patience because these coins might take years to have a crazy pump.

Zero invested in bitcoins? Huh I don't see any reason to not have bitcoin in your investment portfolio. As I personally think it's the safest investment.  That's just my opinion though. Follow your guts.

Anyway. I think you're allocating too much funds on Waves and Stratis. Why not diversify further? Not saying that Waves and Stratis are good cryptocurrency investments, but it's safer to diversify for more than 5, just so if one of them crashes in price, you wouldn't take much of a hit in terms of profit and losses. I would prefer 10% investments on 10 different cryptocurrencies. Check out https://coinmarketcap.com/ if you haven't.

Best of luck.

I think I support the above view. It will pay you better to diversify into more Altcoins, and including Bitcoin in your portfolio won't be a bad idea since your fund can accommodate some amount of it, except if you already have investment in Bitcoin. My own humble opinion. Best of luck.

When I started investments at the stock exchange, I bought several pennystocks.
I still own them, and they have not moved in a considerable way.
Then I got me some stocks from major businesses, and they are doing fine.
I would say it's the same with crypto: Stick to the major ones!

I am surprised that you don't have Bitcoin is your investment portfolio, but if you have done the research then there is no problem as you might have noticed the higher potential in the altcoins.

I am also in the process of doing research for altcoin investments but I think I am going to have 50% amount in Bitcoin and rest of the capital in altcoins. I could select 1 coin (that is ripple) so far out of remaining 9 coins. I would suggest you have a look on the Ripple and the scope of it in next few years.

I think your investment portfolio is seem in safe range with the cryptocurrencies which has high capital of fund. Why not try to get rid of safe range by investing in new potential cryptos such as PPT, IXT, TRST... It can grow exponentially your invesment Smiley

i would not recommend it,
because top 10 altcoin in my opinion not really good for a long term project, many people advised it because it's good for day trader.
a high volume it's suitable for people who's looking for profit every day,but for long term project why you didn't find an undervalued project ?
out there you can find it,for a 3 years range time you can try to invest to XVG,DGB or many other.
in my opinion it was an undervalued project which is always showed a consistent development, and i am absolutely sure you will get what you deserve in the future if you're investing on it.

but do your own research, and remember many altcoin pumped so hard this year and they need to retrace back from their position.
especially top 10 altcoin

Any reason why you decided to put all of your money in altcoins? If I was in your place, I would use at least 50% of that amount to purchase Bitcoins, and another 10% for Bitcoin Cash. Putting 100% in altcoin is ultra-risky.

As long as you already did your diligence then go ahead. In my opinion, Antshares was already oversold. But hey nobody can stop you from doing what you want. You may want to add another project or two. I suggest as well, to divide your buy orders into three, but it's okay as well when you buy in a single order as long as your confident on your price point.

I agree with TRST and youy may add MGO its a good project also and they are the first to have a highest ICO funding received during their offering.. ICN is quite stable also how about Humaniq or HMQ they have a good updates also.

Also to OP. Ants shares is now renamed as NEO.

Your choices are good but you should include bitcoin in them if you want to go for long term investment, as you've mentioned above you said you are planning to keep them for 3 years. You wouldn't regret it if bitcoin was one of your coins listed.
