Yes because it is a divergence from the current bitcoin so would mean it is an alternative version of bitcoin so altcoin it is, regardless if more people support it and it becomes the leader it is still an altcoin, in my eyes anyway.

It is an altcoin which has same features of Bitcoin with few modifications which they so call as improved version of bitcoin. Anything other than Bitcoin, in the crypto world is an altcoin.

Because the people behind this "alternative coin" think that bitcoin is not really the digital currency they've looked up in the past and they want it to make a turn. If you can read the other posts, it has the same features as bitcoin but with a few modifications. So I think you can say an altcoin with their dream feature to bitcoin.

Bro i have understood this still want to know, where they get the copyrights to split the bitcoin into Bcash or altcoin. Since it is not owned copyright by anyone and satoshi not revealed. How this can be modified and create a new altcoin?

There can be only one Bitcoin in the world and that is the one we know very well, all other manipulated currencies being created will be always AltCoins. Doesn't matter the name, it can be Bitcoin Future, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Digital... They will be always AltCoins like any other currency that is created every new day.

Someone say yes someone say no. Explain me in scientific way. yes or no?
Bitcoin cash is an altcoin because it has different blockchain than that of Bitcoin. It will be operated separately. It has its own features like 8mb block size and is not supporting Segwit. In other words it is not Bitcoin thus an altcoin. It has its own market and thus would vary independent of Bitcoin.

There is no copyright issue because Bitcoin is decentralised driven by various miners. Miners have full right to support any blockchain they wish. They didn't like Segwit. Hence wanted to bring their own proposal. The blockchain popularity wil depend upon the users like us. How much we support it.

Yes, I mean, Bitcoin Cash is basically a new altcoin that is splitting off from the Bitcoin blockchain.
So it is a splitted part of "Bitcoin".

Anything that have been fork from its core is an altcoin, I think.

this has somewhat fazed me as well... the original bitcoin didn't have segwit and didn't have larger blocks, so, the bitcoin running now, which has segwit, and the forked one - bitcoin cash, whose blocksize was increased, are both modifications of the original.  Grin so that means the original bitcoin is gone (?)  Huh

Digital currency other than bitcoin we call it an altcoin. So the price is too high for an altcoin and they are not bitcoin. We wait for the next news, fork process is happening but there is no sign of block created for bcash.

Correction : it is an altcoin, yes. But I think you are discriminating the other coins when you say it like that, just say it as a digital coins forked from bitcoin. Also, it is not fork "for" bitcoin but fork "from" bitcoin.

I extended the question.
Then BTC Segwit is an altcoin either? because it has few modifications too.

bitcoin is a defined cryptocurrency with a set of consensus rules that everyone using it has accepted them.
any change that changes these rules will create a different version of bitcoin which is happening through a fork.

if the majority accept that fork it becomes the new bitcoin if they don't it usually goes away or is worked on and improved and comes back to try again. if they go through with it, then the fork becomes an altcoin because the majority have rejected it.

BCC has little support (minority) => altcoin
SegWit has the majority support => bitcoin

There is a FOMO brewing...

Someone say yes someone say no. Explain me in scientific way. yes or no?

BCC although a fork from Bitcoin, is more inline with Satoshi's original vision. It was Satoshi's original intention to scale by increasing Block Size. Satoshi had no intention of having something like segwit integrated into Bitcoin. Basically BCC = Bitcoin purist

BTC segwit although still mainstream, is being held hostage by a rogue CORE dev team, they are not inline with Satoshi's original vision, segwit is a danger to decentralization and Satoshi's vision of Bitcoin being a "P2P Electronic Cash system".

yes since its another coin which just did improvement or so called improvement from the current bitcoin, but i don't think that we need it as we knew that
bitcoin still been recognize by many investors and traders i don't see any big impact of bcc with this current adoption.
