Because people want to make money. But many of them (especially newbies) can only dream that, they think some keywords + nice graphics can bring them money, ridiculous.

A lot of ICOs are indeed scams. And many people are victimized by them. But these are the ones that should not have been trusted in the first place. If enough studies were made, enough background checkings were done, then perhaps people would not have joined and invested in these ICOs in the first place. It was not the ICOs that caused them to lose money. It was the project.

Because money still talks. When BTC is full, they will move to ETH tokens. When ETH is not popular they will return to WAVES. Same story, wash, recycle,,, ICO also a recycled story. Maybe the end of 2017, the end of ICOs. But they will return when all is forgotten.

People not supposed to be cynical but need to be careful about ICO, some of the ICO has a good feature but most of them are scams and ICO won't stop appearing because it is one of the way for coin developer to look for money, and to be honest we don't need anymore ICO, we already got so many coins which is useless

I think more people than you think are aware that they are buying essentially dead tokens. For speculation, all you need is the off-chance that it may actually become something in the future, no matter how unlikely it is.

We just needs analisys fundamental of the ICOs projects before making invest into them, it will be ignore scam ICOs and fake projects in the name of ICOs, but however the best skill analisys fundamental in the ICOs our have, the ICOs projects are part of instrument of investment they are high risk losing money especially investing in digital coins even bitcoins its self no guarantee will be survive, so becareful with instrument of investment.

In my opinion, I think ICOs will always exist, no matter what happens to bitcoin. Since their introduction, they have been adopted as a new of raising funds for certain projects. The more new coins are created, the more ICOs will grow and gain more recognition.

Not all icos fail, some are obvious scams and you should stay away from them, some are projects that are not scams but something happens that stops its development and some other projects are huge success so that is why people keep investing their money there.
