FC is traded on an exchange so unlike FC2 it should probably be taken seriously.
So Chinacoin should be taken seriously? YaCoin too?

Before putting hard earned money into a coin you need to do some research. Check if there is a community that supports the coin, if there is active development working on the code base and if there are active plans to further the use of the coin with merchants and services.

Feathercoin is what I spend all my time on and I take it very seriously.

If people could help us mine to get to block 33,000 so the lower difficulty kicks in that would really be appreciated.

Wow why are so many coins forking this week?

Because they are all derived from the same buggy Bitcoin code that hadn't thought through the high difficulty low hash rate scenario.

before block 33000
with holes all fixed.
also i will open the function "request payment", so you can get paid any time.

Yeah seriously. Transactions are taking forever with FTC right now. I tossed literally every CPU/GPU I have at mining last night. Block confirms are moving tortuously slow.

ed: On the pool I'm mining on right now, I'm sitting on ~5000 unpaid shares or more. Really want that lower difficulty.

All this fork does is inflate the supply of FTC in circulation.

Seriously a difficulty adjustment cap down 10 times?

Lol

Price of FTC will crash...just watch lol

Take your profits folks.  Cheesy

I want to like FTC, really.  So someone, please correct me if I'm wrong here:

FTC difficulty is currently 188.19.  At block 33000 it will go down 41.4% to 110.28.

Further increases and decreases in difficulty are capped at 41.4% and may occur every 504 blocks.

Correct?

If so, then the network hashrate (currently 267 MH/s) will have to shoot up over 10x to approach the target 2.5 mins/block.

If the hashrate "merely" triples to about 800 MH/s, we will have 10 minute blocks for about 3.5 days till the next difficulty. Next diff after that will drop another 41.4% to about 94.84.

Keeping the 800 MH/s in mind, we're still talking 8.5 min blocks for another 3 days.

It's anybody's guess as to the actual network hashrate, but hopefully you get my point: dropping the difficulty only 41.4% just isn't going to be enough.
