Welcome to the forum, currently the best website to keep track of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies' price is Coinmarketcap.com. You can find plenty of information in both Youtube and on the forum if you are willing to spend some time reading and looking around for information here.

You should find some help in the beginners section. You will find some help there. You can also find price for altcoins on yobit.net and you can start your trading there. Purchase some coins which are low and sell them when they are high. It usually gives a good profit form me and also you can start with some low investment. Just you will need a good research and a good knowledge. Spend some time here on this forum and surely you will get some good knowledge here.

Is there anywhere a newb can go to learn about all of these currencies?  Videos?  (reading sucks lol)

https://www.youtube.com/user/aantonop

Yeah. Anton videos are really helpful for beginners and I'm a avid fan of his. One of the most respected figures in bitcoin.

Didn't see an introduction section here.

Bought some bitcoin at an ATM a few days ago.  Currently keeping it in breadwallet.  I have also signed up for bitstamp so maybe I can purchase alt coins online now.

There is so much to learn, and I'm not really sure where to start.  I'm seeing Ripple, Waves, Ethereum, ICO's, etc.  Is there anywhere a newb can go to learn about all of these currencies?  Videos?  (reading sucks lol)

Any good places to watch prices?  I'd like to buy at least $200 of coins per month.

I'm in this to invest over a long period of time.  A friend at work turned me on to all of this.  He is using Exodus on his pc for a wallet.  I used breadwallet because working from my iPhone is easier sometimes.

Anyways, glad to be here and to join this awesome community!

Welcome to the forum. Glad that you have bitcoin already and safely secured in your wallet. There are a lot of exchanges or trading platform like Coinbase, Poloniex, GDAX maybe if you have time you can go and check them out. I think the best place is really our forum for all your questions. Just go around the forum and check different threads here. And others have pointed out coinmarketcap to see which coin is trading with good volumes. I also recommend several bitcoin news outlet that you can go like:

news.bitcoin.com
cointelegraph.com
coinidol.com

But I would really recommend this forum because there are a lot of senior members here that are technically knowledgeable about bitcoin. I hope that you will spend a lot of time here and probably be one experienced investor or trader in the years to come. Goodluck.

Hi man, i too got help so jumping into the thread do do my part :p.

You should learn a bit about trading https://www.babypips.com/learn/forex/preschool

II's a free course you can do and a very thorough one! It will teach you how trading on forex works. This is important because there will be moments that dollar signs will come in your eyes, and you will have to remember that the big guys are the ones who own the game. You can ride some waves but it is very risky. I for one will not risk trading and will only hold, but this course made me realise that it is the best thing to do for me.

Allso remember, when the market is doing bad it will be an opening for new opportunities. When the market is doing good like now you should be carefull.

Get a account on this site https://altpocket.io/?ref=2cz2FEItA it has a very nice interface and you can easily keep track of your coins even when they are cold stored.

You will start asking what good coins are and should be aware that most people will just say what they have in there pockets. So key is to do your research when you want to invest in alts.

Have fun and enjoy the ride, it is never to late to hop on the train.

Welcome! Can't believe you live in one of the places that have bitcoin atms, I have heard about them but still haven't seen one in real life.

Would recommend you making any transactions for the rest of the week since bitcoin just forked into bitcoin cash and we still seem to be recovering.

Good place to watch places would be preev.com, it is super easy to use and lightweight. Would also recommend a hardware wallet like trezor or ledgerwallet since they are safer.

It seems to me that it is best now to pause and wait. From you nothing depends. If the new altcoins will survive in the market of crypto currency you will be rewarded because they got you for free, and if they don't survive then you have nothing to lose except for coins which are worth nothing.

Hi and welcome to bitcointalk!

I assume you have read all of the basic things you need to know about bitcoin. Furthermore, don't stress yourself up in reading things about other coins since you will have a grasp about their workings once you fully understand how bitcoin works. Also, $200 is not bad every month, I used to start at $20 every week and just worked from there to build a significant stash.

Good luck and hope you learn more about bitcoins and how cooler it is compared to fiat!
