May be a dumb question. Can we redeem bitcoin and bitcoin cash separately using single casascius coin.
If so the value of one casascius bitcoin =btc value + bch?

May be a dumb question. Can we redeem bitcoin and bitcoin cash separately using single casascius coin.
If so the value of one casascius bitcoin =btc value + bch?

Keep in mind that there is a collecctors for casascius coins. So a casascius coin is more worth than face value!

yes but as of right now anyone doing that would be very dumb.

if they really wanted to get some btc in their wallet they'd still get far more by selling it unredeemed.

rough looking cas brass halves and 25's come to mind as low enough premium to make it worth a swipe, that's if you can get the shitcoin onto an exchange to sell..

I guess so but it would be a shame if some alt killed off a bunch of coins. if premiums continue to fall and it's price gets stronger it'll be hard to resist.

Yes, basically you would import the private key into two bitcoin wallets -- one wallet for regular bitcoin, and another wallet for bitcoin cash.  Make sure the wallets are synced with the network (or use something like Electrum).  To play it safe, what I would do is create a new address within each wallet, and send the BTC and BCH into separate addresses that you control.  Then you can send these to an exchange for selling, etc.
