Hello guys,

So a few hours ago i sent my bitcoin to another wallet of mine, if it matters from electrum to exodus. i sent 0.042 expecting to get 0.0416 which was fine to me.

When i then minutes later look up the transaction on the blockchain it says that there are two outputs (i only sent bitcoin to one address) one saying that 0.031 will be sent to my exodus address and 0.01 getting sent to another random address i dont know.
And so i start researching about this and from what ive read is that that random address is a change address and that i still own that bitcoin that is on that address supposedly being a change address. as you can imagine, this got me confused and was trying to figure out how i owned that 0.01 bitcoin if it doesnt show up on any of my two wallets.

so my question is,
if i still own that 0.01 bitcoin, how do i get hold of it?

I understand that this is a nooby question but ive tried my best to research and am still yet to understand and am also frustrated that i might have lost 0.01 bitcoin, granted, its not worth much but still... its worth something.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

In the addresses tab of the electrum wallet. There are sections, there's a section for used/sweeped addresses, a section for main addresses and the bottom section for change addresses.
Once this is confirmed, it should reappear in your wallet as being spendable.

that 0.01 is likely going to trusted coin which is the co-signer of your 2fa wallet. you were informed of the charges of this type of wallet when you originally created it.

idk why it sent just 0.3 to exodus when you wanted to send 0.4 something.
