It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I have an account in Bitcoin.de, which I created long back in 2013. I haven't done any trades there and I signed up just because they were having some promotional offer. And if I am not wrong, I didn't gave them any personal ID documents.

Because, probably u trade just bitcoin. but for this u must send personal ID too.
Personal ID documents is used just for trade bitcoin to FIAT.
Well, by the way they send to the police u ID linked wallet and the other ( poor ) info.
And, maybe, if police wanna, they have the possibility to check u info. This is wrong too.
I hope u boicott this site Cheesy

I don't remember them asking for any ID verification back in 2013. Perhaps they added the ID requirement later. But my account was dormant for the last four years and I tried logging in two months back. I could log in, but could not withdraw the coins which I got from the promotional offer (BTC0.01). Even now, they are not asking for any ID from me.

BTW, I would boycott the site. I don't have any use with that account.

The police is not allowed to ask, and the company is not allowed to disclose private data. Even a government agency is not allowed to disclose such data. Only a court order would allow it, with the necessary minimization procedures.

For this i say boicott.
