First you have to understand one thing,all political parties are corrupted,where do you think they are getting the money to serve their organisation and political campaigns.
Talking about ban on bitcoin is absurd thing.before bitcoin corruption was not there? No,it was and it will remain.bitcoin is just a medium to increase your amount of money and gain profit.before it gold , valuable asset and capital asset were used to hide black money.
Blockchain is new thing and government is doing right thing to tell people to be careful while investing in cryptocurrency as here majority people do  have less or no knowledge about btc or blockchain and they are likely to get scammed.
Btc is old tech and can not be used as day today transaction ,only used for limited transaction asset due to high fees .i personally think only IT related or share market traders should invest in crypto,it is not meant for general purpose due to lack of knowledge.

I don't think Indian government has issued any rule regarding the legality of any Virtual currency. Banning virtual currency would mean we will not be able to trade it for INR as it(banning) would be a result of shutting down many cryptocurrency exchanges and wallets. But we can still trade it for other cryptos.
To ban entire trade of cryptos would mean shutting down the internet which of course we know is impossible.
