Hello community,
i just want to warn you. MtGox has some security issues.
I woke up through a email from mtgox: Withdraw from your account.
Logged in and all bitcoins are gone.
This was really much money,
I put the most of my savings into bitcoins to buy a asicminer,
so this is more then annoying. This is the first time something
like this happened to me, so again I want to warn you to take care.
Use the security login in mtgox, update your browser, java and your windows.

It happens so fast and the most people only learns when it happens to them.
Never thought about this could happen to me, iam not the first. There are other people
but they didnt lost so much money.

Also, for Chrome users, heres a tip:
Make all plugins click-to-play
-Click the Chrome menu and select Settings.
-Click Show advanced settings.
-In the "Privacy section", click the Content settings button.
-In the "Plug-ins" section select Click to play.

Dont risk something, it could happen in the next second and always log out!

If your bitcoins are gone you will never see them again.

My hacker used this IP/Proxy:
222.3.76.39
I googled this IP and found this email:
lorejoucctick@aol.com

Please take care...ive definitely learned my lesson..just loosed 7000 dollar  Undecided

You are never safe.

I hope mtgox will update the bitcoin withdrawal, like a sms code before the transfer would be fine and safe.

Or Google Authenticator, which is free.

I was using it with Mt Gox for withdrawals and security settings access up until I decided I was done with Mt Gox for good yesterday.

Wanna send coins my way? 1BY2rZduB9j8Exa4158QXPFJoJ2NWU1NGf or just scan the QR code in my avatar.  :-)

update java&windows for security reasons?

you can install ubuntu, uninstall java, use very complicate passphrases added to yubikey or google autenticathor

in general, the pc you use for enterntainment must be different than the pc that you use to moving your money in:

bank account
e-payment services
bitcoin trading platform
postal services
online payments system of all websites

so sorry for you, and anyway and i will pay more attention in the future Wink

Also, for Chrome users, heres a tip:

Don't use Chrome, ever.  It has security holes big enough to sail the Titanic through, thanks to Google's never-ending thirst for your private data.  Use SRWare Iron instead.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

Well, if you know of them, you can earn back far more than the 7000USD lost: http://www.google.com/about/appsecurity/reward-program/

https://www.coinlend.org <-- automated lending at various exchanges.
https://www.bitfinex.com <-- Trade BTC for other currencies and vice versa.
