China has built a new military facility on the islands of the South China Sea. The Chinese military project was revealed from a satellite image reported by a US think tank.

The Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative (AMTI), a section of the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), reported in its report that a new satellite image shows missile shelters as well as radar and communications facilities built on Fiery Cross, Mischief and Subi Reef In the Spratly Islands, South China Sea.

The United States criticized the construction of China's military facilities on the artificial islands for fear that Washington's regional navigation freedom is missing.

Last month, a US Navy warship sailed within 12 nautical miles on the Mischief Reef with a patrol claim of freedom of navigation. The warship patrol near the Chinese-made island was the first since Donald Trump served as US president.

Washington accuses Beijing of militarization in the disputed region. But China denied it.

Islands in the South China Sea are disputed between China and other Asian countries such as Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam.

China, according to AMTI, has previously built four new missile shelters at Fiery Cross Reef. Mischief and Subi each have eight shelters.

In a recent AMTI report, it was mentioned that a large dome was recently installed in Fiery Cross and another one is under construction. The facility is a great communication or radar system. Two other domes, according to AMTI, were also built on Mischief Reef.

"Beijing can now use military assets, including fighter jets and missile launchers to move to the Spratly Islands at any time," the AMTI report said.

Beijing's government and military have not responded to the report of the US think tank. However, China has insisted that the islands in the South China Sea are its sovereign territory, where Beijing claims almost the entire South China Sea region.

The PLA Navy is the weakest component of the Chinese armed forces. Unlike the Army and the Air Force, the PLAN does not posses ultra-modern equipment and weapons. They are miles behind the United States Navy in terms of battle capabilities.

It's too late now. China has already completely reclaimed several shallow islets and many of them now have runways as well as space for missile launchers. America trying to get in there could make the situation more unpredictable.

It also doesn't help that the Philippines is pretty much the only ally US have in there among the claimants. American presence there could be used by China to drive a wedge between ASEAN claimants, further preventing them from coming up with a concerted action to stop Beijing's cabbage patch from overgrowing the entire area. For example, Vietnam could be suspicious of increased American presence, considering their history.

ASEAN did came up with a harsher than expected statement against the Chinese causing tension in the region, which was surprising considering China have its chum Cambodia in the bloc. (ASEAN operates by consensus, meaning only once member disagreeing can throw off everything.)

Taiwan is not considered a sovereign nation though, that's why you don't see them invited in meetings like China, US, Japan and North Korea had representatives in the ASEAN meeting. Also, whatever claim China have on the S China Sea is the same claim Taiwan is making.

China is a major growing economy in the world, they are looking to become a world superpower and they have the required potential. As it is ruled by the communists, they have the expansionist policy since the beginning. This is just a one chapter of their expansionist policy, they have border dispute with almost every neighboring country and its their tradition to claim the other territories to achieve their goal.

But its India who came forward upon the bhutan's request to defend their territory and that road is also threat for India's security. I just know this, if that's true it can be dangerous, because as we know that china is almost in control of the trading system in this case electronic goods, i do not know why china started to create missiles, maybe there is agreement between china and north korea. China can bully smaller countries only and this time they were trying to bully Bhutan. But its India who came forward upon the bhutan's request to defend their territory and that road is also threat for India's security. India has every right to stop China's hegemony and defend bhutan's territory. As of now India has shown some tough stand and forced China to stop the construction of road in disputed area. Its almost two months but China is still just threatening India but no action has been taken by their army. Agreed with you mate, there is lot of difference between Tibet and Sikkim. I just want to clarify that, India will not support for the independence of Tibet as the situation has been changed now. If they do so, china will counter back with the support for independence of Sikkim and Kashmir.

Why China building military facility in the South China Sea? Its because of US in appropriate attitude towards China. This US is bullying China and selfish country that want to control everything. Why super power country want to become morw powerful? Because they want to defend their sovereig countrt from other super power. So this is the result why China built new military facilities in West Philippine Sea. This is between two superpowers and not between Philippines, Vietnam nor Malaysia. There is a big difference between Sikkim and Tibet. The people of Sikkim don't want to be independent. The state is having a Hindu majority, and they are happy being a part of India. But that is not the case with Tibet. Even now, there is a lot of support for independence there. And talking about Kashmir, it is true that the majority of the population want to secede from India.

They have every right to do this. When such an unstable situation in the world, and also the neighboring country, which scares all with nuclear weapons, the construction of military facilities is justified.
