It's really threatening not only in my country, the Philippines but also the other claimants of disputed islands in SCS. China is aggresive and a bully to other countries, they can't respect the countries who are also claming the islands.

I think that the only solution is for all the other countries to unite (including Japan, India and Taiwan), and to defend their territories from the Chinese aggression. Now it seems like China may attack the Indian forces in the Doklam plateau in Bhutan. In that case, all the other nations must send their troops to Doklam, to support the Indians.

I've recently seen a vid on Youtube about Doklam. No wonder India is really pissed off. China getting a foot hold there means it would be possible for them to cut-off India's north-eastern states, like Megalhaya and Sikkim.





Basically the same cabbage approach they are using against other SE Asian claimants, take over one part, and then slowly push out from that.

The Chinese have their claims over Arunachal Pradesh, and this may be a reason why they want to cut-off mainland India from the northeast. But I guess the Indian army is stronger now, when compared to the situation they had in 1962.

It's too late now. China has already completely reclaimed several shallow islets and many of them now have runways as well as space for missile launchers. America trying to get in there could make the situation more unpredictable.

It also doesn't help that the Philippines is pretty much the only ally US have in there among the claimants. American presence there could be used by China to drive a wedge between ASEAN claimants, further preventing them from coming up with a concerted action to stop Beijing's cabbage patch from overgrowing the entire area. For example, Vietnam could be suspicious of increased American presence, considering their history.

ASEAN did came up with a harsher than expected statement against the Chinese causing tension in the region, which was surprising considering China have its chum Cambodia in the bloc. (ASEAN operates by consensus, meaning only once member disagreeing can throw off everything.)

The United Nations is a toothless body incapable of not doing anything. Rather than expecting the UN to take action, the US must act first and secure what is left of the South China Sea. Else, China is going to swallow the entire region.

That is not entirely true. Taiwan has been an ally of the United States for many decades. Also, Vietnam has recently moved to the NATO sphere, especially after the disintegration of the USSR. Other nations such as Malaysia and Indonesia are also more favorable to the US than towards China.

That is not entirely true. Taiwan has been an ally of the United States for many decades. Also, Vietnam has recently moved to the NATO sphere, especially after the disintegration of the USSR. Other nations such as Malaysia and Indonesia are also more favorable to the US than towards China.

Taiwan is not considered a sovereign nation though, that's why you don't see them invited in meetings like China, US, Japan and North Korea had representatives in the ASEAN meeting. If the US try to use their influence in Taiwan, China will just accuse America of warmongering, after all China considers Taiwan as a renegade province. Also, whatever claim China have on the S China Sea is the same claim Taiwan is making.

As for Malaysia and Indonesia, I don't hear them calling themselves US allies though they are not as hostile to the US as the current Philippine administration. Jeez, what a sellout that old geezer is. The only reason the issue was ever mentioned on the communique was because Vietnam insisted.

Doklam is a part of Bhutan, as per the international laws. Since Bhutan is incapable of defending its territory against a bully such as China, it has requested the Indians to interfere and help.

There are two solutions to this issue. The first one is to leave the entire South China Sea to the Chinese. Considering the weak military might of nations such as the Philippines and Vietnam, I don't think that a military confrontation by these nations against China is a viable option. The other option is for the United States to take a lead role, and set up naval and army facilities in the Spratly Islands group.

The United States criticized the construction of China's military facilities on the artificial islands for fear that Washington's regional navigation freedom is missing.

Last month, a US Navy warship sailed within 12 nautical miles on the Mischief Reef with a patrol claim of freedom of navigation. The warship patrol near the Chinese-made island was the first since Donald Trump served as US president.

Washington accuses Beijing of militarization in the disputed region. But China denied it.

Islands in the South China Sea are disputed between China and other Asian countries such as Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam.

China, according to AMTI, has previously built four new missile shelters at Fiery Cross Reef. Mischief and Subi each have eight shelters.

In a recent AMTI report, it was mentioned that a large dome was recently installed in Fiery Cross and another one is under construction. The facility is a great communication or radar system. Two other domes, according to AMTI, were also built on Mischief Reef.

"Beijing can now use military assets, including fighter jets and missile launchers to move to the Spratly Islands at any time," the AMTI report said.

China is a major growing economy in the world, they are looking to become a world superpower and they have the required potential. As it is ruled by the communists, they have the expansionist policy since the beginning. This is just a one chapter of their expansionist policy, they have border dispute with almost every neighboring country and its their tradition to claim the other territories to achieve their goal.

Its almost two months but China is still just threatening India but no action has been taken by their army. I just know this, if that's true it can be dangerous, because as we know that china is almost in control of the trading system in this case electronic goods, i do not know why china started to create missiles, maybe there is agreement between china and north korea. I hope there will be no more war after the second world war.

China doesn't have the balls to confront stronger nations such as Japan and the United States. There is a territorial dispute between Japan and China, over the Senkaku Islands. This region is still under the Japanese rule.

Yeah, everyone knows that how china has illegally and forcefully occupied Tibet. In the past, India lodged their protest and supported independence of tibet but when sikkim became part of india, china refused to acknowledge it. Later on both countries came to mutual agreement , wherein china acknowledged sikkim as a part of india and India acknowledged tibet as a part of China.
