Rankine

A temperature measurement scale created by a man of science, from civil engineering until thermodynamics, ranging from a complete theory of the steam engine and all heat engines, until his Rankine temperature scale. No one else then William John Macquorn Rankine could have been the man to create the Rankine temperature scale.

Being a man of engineering science and on later age a man of many branches in science, he experimented with thermodynamic processes looking for fundamental laws. He wrote many theories, among the Rankine scale of temperature, but also spoke and wrote about what later became the “conservation of energy”.

Rankine saw a connection in the complete natural appearances of visible motion, mechanical motion, heat, light, magnetism, electricity and chemical energy.

Why a coin named after Rankine?

We chose his name because of what he achieved, Rankine devoted a big part (if not all) of his live to science. He crossed many different types of science and worked mostly from what he saw and that tickled his mind.

This is exactly why, we currently all work (yes even u) with some sort of science, some just plain and simple by using a car, others by being directly in the research field completing his or hers own research. We wish to fill in a void, a void between science and the blockchain.

We see room to fill in a gap, by offering services for researchers and creating a form of compensation for those supporting the researchers.

We are aware that there will always be other kind of services already supporting the researchers, yet we have not seen these around much on the level were looking at. Most of the interviews, data collection and other kinds of gathering of information, these are mostly based upon open question for support, with a bare minimum of incentive behind it and that is exactly where we see the gap, the room for an incentive that can be based upon a user based valuation.

Why a repost?

Well unfortunately the member that originally posted this message, has been asked to either release other activities he has been doing for a long time already, or have the announcement being reposted by someone else. As we do not want him, nor another teammember, ending up with discussion about this, I asked him to remove the original thread and let me repost it.

We are aware this looks odd and we agree that is an unpleasant move, but as it is being done this early, it can better be done now, than later on.

The idea behind it is written down, tho it might be a bit cryptic on the website. As we've seen in many studies, data is one of the main details to run by, especially when looking at University research ( I'm working on one myself ). We've see a lot of inquiry's to fill in a questionnaire, so the researcher can collect a broad pile of data, without actually atleast paying an incentive to those that give the data.

Our first start off point will be exactly that part, we would like to offer a platform to collect the requested data, still based upon questionnaires, but supported by adding incentive to it. With a default of at least 1 Rankine per questionnaire.

during the entire period, we will be on the lookout, for more method's to add incentive to the blockchain, since we all know, filling out questions over and over again, is just plain boring in the end.

It depends on what you wish to do, we are aware that it looks like a vast amount, but we do needs some room to create incentives/development.
Currently we are working on getting the bounty's worked out and will post those either here or on a separate thread.

We will be creating a space for researchers, to run questionnaires towards the wallet holder, those that chose to fill in the questionnaires, will receive Rankine as a reward. This is our main goal to get going in 2018.

Currently, the premine will be used as rewards in bounty, that are already known, but also for those that will be announced, in the near future ( think of: Logo re-design, wallet design). Besides this, as soon as the system is fully functional ( we will probably hire some help for completing this), we as dev-team will be running the system itself during live-testing, with offering Rankine as reward, to see the full potential of the system.

All in all, we will be trying to spend atleast 75% of the premine within the first year, to have this system running, while rewarding those that support us during.
